There used to be a time when press on nails were considered, tacky, for lack of a better word; they usually came as the standard french manicure nail in overtly square nail shapes, that were not malleable at all. What you saw in the packaging was exactly what you got. Now It’s a well known fact among the beauty industry that the nail sector is booming, which is most likely due to the insurgence of the nail art phenomenon. Riding on that wave is the upgraded press on nail.
For Clover Canyon’s S/S 2013 collection lead manicurist Gina Edwards for imPRESS Press-On Manicure by Broadway Nails, chose an “understated nail” color called High Hopes to complement the colorful looks in the collection. It is a pale, opaque pink shade that says “my nails can be simple but still fab!”
imPRESS Press-On Maniocue is incredible simple to apply. Their advice is to make sure that the nail bed is thoroughly cleaned to ensure the press on will stick to the nail for the maximum amount of time (imPRESS ensures nails will last up to a week). I also like how easy it is to shape these nails with a file. Goodbye to the horribly square press on nail of the nineties. Edwards chose the more updated rounded shape for Clover Canyon.
Hair and makeup for Clover Canyon was dramatized mostly by the strong brow shape and the sharply contoured cheek. The hair was a structured chignon ponytail coif.
