Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week: Lena Erziak SS24 Collection

Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week: Lena Erziak SS24 Collection

It’s Paris couture time again! We begin with Lena Erziak’s lavish couture collection (you may remember her Spring/Summer 23 collection). This season, the Lena Erziak SS24 Collection took center stage at the Spring-Summer 2024 Couture Collection during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, paying homage to the extravagant legacy of Marquise Luisa Casati. The runway became a canvas depicting the opulence that defined Luisa’s era, where lavish events and extravagant balls were her signature.

Marquise Luisa Casati, a symbol of both high society and avant-garde art, left an indelible mark on the fashion landscape with her eccentricities and beauty. Renowned as a femme fatale, she mesmerized audiences by parading with leashed cheetahs and accessorizing herself with live snakes. Her legendary soirées, featuring peculiar animals, elevated her status as a patron of prominent fashion designers.

The Lena Erziak SS24 collection unfolded in the former Robert de Montesquiou residence, where Luisa once hosted Parisian high society in the enchanting winter garden. The collection echoed the grandeur of Luisa’s era, with abundant feathers, silk chiffon, organza, silk taffeta, and duchess satin forming the fabric palette. Each piece, meticulously crafted, showcased extravagant volumes and shimmering, punchy colors, embodying the essence of a modern-day “femme fatale” – glamorous, strong, and full of character.

This 100% made-in-France collection not only paid tribute to the extravagance of Luisa Casati but also celebrated the heritage of French couture. Skilled artisans, including feather workers and corset makers, lent their expertise to bring Erziak’s vision to life. The result was a collection that seamlessly blended the allure of the past with the contemporary spirit of the present.

As Erziak unveiled her creations, the audience was transported to the world of Luisa Casati – a world where fashion was not just clothing but a manifestation of one’s desire to be a “living work of art.” In this immersive experience, the Lena Erziak SS24 collection succeeded in capturing the essence of an era defined by extravagance, pushing the boundaries of haute couture and leaving an indelible mark on the fashion landscape.
