The Spring 2012 show for Ruffian titled “Thoroughbred” featured feminine fabrics and bright coloring with a sharp edge. Color blocking at various angles provided a sense of whimsy for the collection, making predominantly black pieces feel more more lighthearted. Playing on the femininity, models were styled in sleek ponytails.
To match the duality of masculine and feminine details seen in the collection, the ponytails were kept thick and strong. Perhaps to purposely mirror the majesty of Ruffian’s equine roots.
