EMU Australia Fall 2012 Collection

I was so sad to miss last season’s EMU Australia show at Style360 but I made sure I was available this time to catch the EMU Australia Fall 2012 Collection show, again held at the Metropolitan Pavilion as part of the Style360 Shows. The Fall 2012 collection, inspired by the natural elements of Australian and Nordic fur trends, featured an almost all neutral color palette, earth tones such as mushroom, chocolate, toffee, red earth, clay, hedge green and boysenberry.

The collection exhibits EMU’s unmistakable ties to the Australian environment with looks featuring meticulous outerwear including a double-faced sheepskin coat with a vintage Nappa finish, snow tipped long hair sheepskin vests and jackets, tailored merino wool pieces, and cozy cardigans and sweaters.
For footwear, the focus was on sheepskin and Nappa leather styles. The comfy shoes (whose styles I like so much better than their competition) are 100% super soft waterproof Australian Sheepskin that is thicker which gives their boots more structure. They feature anatomically correct sheepskin lined insoles, a tough rubber outsole, and molded heel cups. The fashionable boots featured textured leathers, stunning trims, and metal embellishments. My favorite styles were, of course, the leathers, particularly the cool Leeville Boot in Mushroom (below left) and the Sandon Boot in chocolate (below right) – both make great everyday boots. A non-leather favorite was the Miva Boot in mushroom (4th photo) – one glance will have you fall in love as well.
