Jodi Arnold for The Limited & The Limited Fall 2010 Collection Preview

Jodi Arnold has done it again; she has won my heart with amazing and personality-filled looks for her newest collaboration with The Limited. The newest Jodi Arnold for The Limited Collection will be available in stores and online at on August 15th. The current Jodi Arnold for The Limited Spring 2010 collection is available online now, take a look at the look book.

“The Fall 2010 collection is a celebration of women discovering their own freedom of expression, reflected in the signature embellishments, unique prints and Jodi’s trademark attention to detail. For this second collaboration with The Limited, Jodi uses a playful mix of feminine and masculine-influenced design as a metaphor for the 1920’s and 30’s, a time when American women embraced greater personal independence. Influenced by social reformers, glamorous stage performers and middle-class women entering professions previously closed to women, the Jodi Arnold for The Limited Fall Collection honors the tremendous strides made by the dynamic women of the era.”

I had a chance to interview Jodi Arnold again about this collection and her inspiration for the fall season and just as before, she was very gracious enough to do the interview.

Jodi Arnold for The Limited’s collection is an easy mix with The Limited’s Fall 2010 Collection; Jodi Arnold’s unique embellishments added the perfect kick to the Tweeds, tailored lines and the more edgy touches featured in The Limited’s Collection. For example, you can substitute Jodi Arnold’s blush and Black chiffon Chemise (pictured above) with the Limited’s (showed below) or vice versa

Some of my other favorites looks from The Limited’s Fall Collection are featured, the fall jewel-toned blouse below was one of the first things to catch my eye  as well as the bold top below (as you can see, I do continuously love color)

I got a chance to speak with Elliot Staples, the VP of Design about the classic looks The Limited has to offer for fall.

CUSTO BARCELONA Fall 2010 Collection

A while back I did some real wallet damage and attended the Custo Barcelona Sample Sale, I got several pieces from the spring collection that added even more pizazz to my already eclectic wardrobe. After my foray into a bit of heaven, I proceeded to preview the Fall 2010 Collection from Custo Barcelona to get a more up close and personal look – this collection, filled with lots of metalics, eye catching color, faux fur in various lengths and colors and the signature bold Custo bold aesthetic is called “Hairy Metal”

Custo Barcelona combined not just metal and fur, the designer created new textures and depth by combining fabrics and furs of various lengths to give us the multi-dimensional looks to the collection. Check out the video of my walk-thru of the Fall Collection.

Dots – Love the Looks, Love the Prices!

Glasgow and I recently attended the Dots Fall Preview. While I was unfamiliar with the brand, I was familiar with the stylish looks featured in the Fall collection, a collection that was very much on-trend with what is expected for the fall.

Staying true to its philosophy, making fashion affordable, the Dots Fall collection contains stylish pieces that retail for UNDER $40. That’s right, all pieces retail for under $40 dollars. A style conscious woman can successful create a take notice outfit for under $100! Connie Marsh, Director of Trend Merchandising, walks us through the Collection.

As you can see from the video Dots is offering numerous fabulous pieces this Fall. My favorites are the faux rabbit vest, one shoulder mixed metallic shirt, metallic “shoety” and the Fall 2010 version of the dolman sleeve top. All the pieces can be dressed up or down depending on the mood of the woman. And the best part is that regardless of your income Dots can help you achieve your fashion goal on a budget!

The chic and affordable Dots apparel can be purchased online at or at one of its 400 locations in two dozen states (primarily in the East Coast and the Midwest). You should feel comfortable ordering online because Dots has a very flexible return policy. Anzie Jewelry Fall 2010 Collection Preview

Anzie jewelry was founded in 1999 by Anzie Stein as a way to raise money for Cancer awareness. After her husband was diagnosed with colon cancer, Anzie designed the Lifesaver Bracelet as an outlet to deal with the emotions of her husband’s illness.

The success of the lifesaver bracelet prompted the company to design full collections of 18k gold, 14k gold or sterling silver pieces set with semi-precious and precious stones. Now with her daughters by her side, Anzie has created another exciting collection for the Fall.

Anzie’s jewelry is spectacular. It is clean, timeless and classic. Everyday Luxury, Anzie’s philosophy, is evident in every piece of the Fall 2010 collection. The jewelry can be worn as a single statement piece or layered taking the sophisticated woman from day to night.

My favorite pieces, which is not easy to select since there were so many fabulous pieces, were the Dew Drop bracelet in various colored stones set in sterling silver and the Angelina necklace in white topaz. The Dew Drop bracelet and Angelina necklaces are true statement pieces. They are bold; demanding attention.

A confident woman who enjoys having all eyes on her would relish in the attention she would get wearing these pieces. The Anzie Jewelry Collection is for the woman who likes luxury, timeless pieces that can complement her business suit, jeans and summer dress. This woman has a youthful spirit, knows quality, and likes to be stylish.Get an up close and personal view of the collection below

Because of the pride taken in their jewelry, Anzie provides customers with the ability to customize their purchases. If you would like a special charm or engraving added or if the bracelet needs to be sized/re-sized, Anzie will happily customize your purchase. Its another attribute that makes this company unique.

Anzie jewelry retails for $175 to $12,000 and can be purchased at or in high end retailer,  Saks Fifth Avenue.

Columbia Sportswear Fall 2010 Women’s Collection Launch

When you think of Columbia Sportswear, what comes to mind – jackets, fleece, scarfs, hats, those awesome commercials with mother and son or dresses? Yes, dresses.

Columbia recently took another look at what women are wearing and developed a collection that is not only technical but also fits Columbia’s consumer’s lifestyle. The company expanded its existing collection to include functional and fashionable pieces that appeals to the stylish woman on the go. The skirts and dresses are made of the same material Columbia is known for: Omni-dry (the ultimate moisture management technology) and Omni-shade (protection against damaging UV radiation).

I had the opportunity to try on several of the fall 2010 line pieces. My favorites were the Mighty Lite Jacket shown below (Retail $85.00) and the Explore Your Soul Tunic (Retail $75.00).

The Mighty Lite Jacket is an ultra-warm and lightweight jacket featuring Omni-heat thermal insulation and Omni-shield advanced sun ray protection. It has interior security pockets with a comfortable cuff and thumb holes. It was love at first sight when I saw the bold, red colored Mighty Lite Jacket. I slide into the jacket knowing I would like the fit but uncertain about its ability to keep me warm. As I suspected, the jacket fit perfectly. It was lightweight, form fitting and warm. Yes, it was warm. The warmth really surprised me given its lightweight. I am one of those people who believes that you have to wear a heavy, bulking jacket to stay warm. But when I wear those heavy jackets I feel restricted, weighed down and dowdy. This jacket made me feel stylish while feeling warm, which is exactly what I wanted.

Explore Your Soul Tunic (which will be available this fall) is a great layering piece featuring material that protects you from harmful sun rays while being water and stain resistant. The material is perfect for vacation travel or fall days in New York when the weather can change on a dime. Even though the medium sized tunic was large on me, I could still feel how comfortable the material felt against my skin and see how fashionable the design looked on my body type. The tunic is designed so a woman can dress it up with a wide belt and jeggings or wear it by itself to look fashionable while strolling down the sidewalk of Paris or the streets of New York. The best part is that you will be smiling, regardless of the weather, because your tunic is ready for anything…rain or shine.

Loft Fall 2010 Preview & Press Party

Loft recently held a launch party to introduce it’s Loft Style Studio to a very impressed audience at the Bowery Hotel. It’s amazing to think that Loft’s previews were always held in their showroom but the brand has grown so much because they really know their customer. Which is why we are now at the beautiful Bowery Hotel celebrating the brand. Loft which is aimed to a younger, trendier consumer, this customer that is most likely to go out right after work (like me) and sometimes going home to change is not always possible.

This collection featured two segments – Fall 1 and Fall 2 and was filled with muted colors, various shades of purples and browns, grays, tan and bold colors like red, magenta and gold. Loft collaborated with four stylists, Tina Chai, Kate Young, Joanne Blades and Alia Ahmed-Yahia to create day to night looks for the event.

The collection included Loft’s classic separates, flirty dresses, outerwear, shoes and accessories, with all the clothing priced under $100 (shoes were a bit more). I had a several favorites as usual, as you can see, I usually go for the very soft, feminine looks whichis why Loft is a favorite of mine.

Celebrity attendees included Mena Suvari, Alexis Bledel, Amanda Hearst, and Alexa Chung who opened up the event as the DJ for the evening before the rock band, The Ra Ra Riot took the stage.
