Rose Hill Rooftop: The Elevated Escape NYC’s Been Waiting For

There’s something magical about seeing Manhattan from above. The hum of the city softens, the skyline stretches wide, and for a few golden hours, the world feels still. That’s exactly the feeling you get at Rose Hill Rooftop, the newest open-air sanctuary perched atop the Park South Hotel. It’s an all-season escape that somehow captures both the pulse and the pause of New York life.

The elevator doors open, and immediately the energy shifts. The air feels lighter, scented faintly with citrus and fresh herbs from the bar. A low hum of conversation, clinking glasses, and laughter fills the space. The view? Absolutely breathtaking, the kind of panorama that makes you instinctively reach for your phone but also tempts you to just sit back and take it in.

Rose Hill Rooftop reimagines what a New York rooftop can be: part neighborhood hideaway, part cosmopolitan escape. The design balances cozy nooks with open-air lounges, flexible for every season, the kind of place where you can sip rosé under the summer sun or tuck into a corner couch with a cocktail when the temperature drops.

The cocktails are as creative as they are refined. We started with the Tropical Ember, a fresh take and tropical twist on the Piña Colada with passion fruit as the star. Served over crushed ice, it’s equal parts tart, creamy, and refreshing, like summer in a glass. The Sunday Scorched, a sophisticated spin on ginger beer, followed, and it was just as memorable: crisp, spicy, and beautifully balanced. Other standouts include the Rose District Spritz (gin, elderflower, rosé cava) and the Uptown Smash (bourbon, basil, blackberry), drinks that look as good as they taste.

The seasonally inspired menu celebrates fresh, locally sourced ingredients infused with global flair. The small plates are made for sharing and for conversation. The Sweet & Spicy Asian Wings (also available in BBQ and Buffalo styles) are a must-order, sticky and satisfying, while the Spicy Sunset Sliders, crispy fried chicken with honey and pickles on a buttery brioche bun, might just steal the show. A side of crispy fries and their dangerously good sweet potato fries rounded out the spread. It’s comfort food with polish, perfectly paired for rooftop lounging.

Behind the concept are hospitality veterans Kanvar Singh (formerly of Dream Hotel Group and Hyatt Hotels) and Jimmy Rizvi (of Bungalow fame). Together, they’ve created something that feels both elevated and easy, a place where every visit feels like a small celebration. And the story doesn’t stop here. Rose Hill Rooftop will soon expand to include two new restaurants and a coffee shop, transforming the space into a full-day destination. From sunrise to late-night cocktails, Rose Hill Rooftop promises to become Manhattan’s next must-visit escape, where skyline views meet timeless New York charm.

Though Manhattan has plenty of rooftops, Rose Hill is the one you’ll keep coming back to. We came for the view, but stayed for the feeling, that rare, perfect mix of city energy and calm. At Rose Hill Rooftop, the city feels infinite, and for a while, so do you.
