The Makeup Show NYC 2013

Whether you’re a beauty addict, aspiring makeup artist or just a beauty beginner, attending The Makeup Show NYC is a must. Anything and everything you ever wanted to know about the cosmetics industry you can learn at The Makeup Show NYC. Not only from leading experts in the beauty industry but directly from the beauty brands as well. This years The Makeup Show NYC brought top leading, niche and lesser-known brands who showcased everything from foundation and lip products to body art and nail polish.

One product I’m particularly excited about is by a brand that’s fairly new to me – Nurturing Force. As someone who is plagued with oily skin and looks at humidity as the enemy (it really is) I was beyond excited to be introduced to their Blot Out Offensive

The Blot Out Offensive makes skin into an instant matte/anti-shine canvas for you to apply makeup, a HD primer and barrier cream that controls oil secretion throughout the day, providing excellent adhesion for all Airbrushed applications (Water, Alcohol & Silicone Airbrushed Foundations), all Foundations including: Liquids, Powders, Creams Makeup, Mineral Makeup + Body Art. Speaking of Body Art, beauty brands like Make Up For Ever, etc wowed with more exquisite body art, just as we saw at The Makeup Show Opening Party.

Apart from the amazing collections of beauty, we had access to panels and speakers with insight from some of the world’s leading experts from all facets of beauty….with a few celebrities thrown into the mix

So if you love all things beauty or want to get some amazing insight into the beauty world, attending The Makeup Show NYC is a required part of your beauty knowledge journey or at least it should be.

The Makeup Show NYC Blogger Preview & Opening Party

Once again it was time again for the most amazing time in beauty. A beauty lover’s favorite event – The Makeup Show. The grand dame of beauty events started off with a special Blogger preview and opening party. Heralded by the utterly hilarious James Vincent, The Makeup Show’s Director of Artistry and Education, we got an exclusive sneak peek of brands who showcased in this year’s show and some of James Vincent’s favorite products.

James introduced us to some of the over 75 beauty brands, 6 keynote speakers, 20 seminars, and 14 hands-on workshops. After the fun-filled event, we ventured upstairs to the opening party which also highlighted the Sound and Vision Face ChART Contest, which had artists and The Makeup Show attendees interpret their fsvorite songs into fine art, their student competition, The Makeup Show NYC Wonder Games and a tribute to Wojciech Inglot, Founder of Inglot Cosmetics who recently passed away.

The color palette for fashion in the warmer seasons is always brighter and bolder but the color palette for makeup is usually no bolder than a red lip. That has now changed with the introduction of bolder makeup colors and no one embraces this dramatic change than Make Up Forever’s introduction of Neon Color Palette.

Stop traffic with electric eyes, lips and cheeks with Make Up Forever’s Neon products such as Rouge Artist Intence Lipstick, Lab Shine Lipgloss, Aqua Eyes Liners, Aqua Liquid Liners, Aqua Cream (pictured above), and Star Powder. Get to know some of these products below:

Rouge Artist Intense – a show-stopping high pigment lipstick collection that gives dramatic, long-lasting color. This ultra-rich lipstick is formulated with an exclusive pigment complex that contains 50% more pigment than traditional lipsticks.

Lab Shine – a brilliant lip gloss that delivers mega-watt shine with an amazing shot of color. Lab Shine is available in three finishes and thirty-five vibrant hues.
