Avril Lavigne for Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips

Hey guys, Nelly here again to introduce you to the newest nail polish launch from Sally Hansen. Edgy punk rock princess, Avril Lavigne and teamed up with the Nail Polish giant to launch a collection of edgy limited edition nail polish strips. The collection includes (top row left to right) – Take the Stage, You’re a Star, Fur-ocious Vocals, Purr-fect Harmony, In the SPOT-light and (bottom row left to right) – Running Wild, Beat You to it!, STUD-io Time, Sound Check, Plaidical, Crowd Surfer and Headbanger.

The 12-piece limited edition peel-and-apply patterns are all rock inspired and features Avril Lavigne’s signature energetic, no-frills attitude and straight talking lyrics. The designs features skull-and-bones, funky leopard prints, glitter ombre, plaid, etc. Avril herself was wearing the Headbanger – one of our favorites here – with Beat You to it! on one finger; she actually applied it as we were learning about the capsule collection.

“I was so excited to collaborate with Sally Hansen on Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips,” says Avril. “I always say that you need to be able to express yourself and these nail polish strips deliver the ultimate form of self-expression. Their unique, bold designs offer long lasting results and are unlike anything else on the market. They totally rock!”

The designs are very much what I expected from Avril Lavigne and I look forward to seeing what she offers next. As with the regular nail polish strips, which is available starting now and retails for $9.99, these will also contain 16 nail polish strips, a cuticle stick, mini file/buffer and instructions for easy at-home application. When you’re ready to change your nail strips, just take them off with your favorite Sally Hansen polish remover for an instantly clean state and apply another great design.

China Glaze’s NEW Prismatic Chroma Glitters Collection

Hi guys, Nelly here again with another amazing collection of nail lacquers from China Glaze. Bursting with color and dimension, this limited edition collection of glitter polishes was inspired by the beauty and magic of multicolored prisms (the colors formed by the refraction of light through a prism). Complete with glitter and holographic-like technology, the six icy shades in China Glaze’s Prismatic Collection give the appearance of multiple layers of iridescent color and create the ultimate eye-catching, 3-D mani.

The Prismatic collection include:

Ray-DiantGreenish-gold shimmer filled with specks of silver, pink, green, orange and blue
PolarizedSilver metallic sheen sprinkled with yellow, pink, orange and green glitters
Liquid CrystalBright blue holographic with purple tint dusted with silver, gold, green, pink and orange

PrismGrape purple holographic gleams with pink shimmer and glitters with pieces of pink, blue, green, orange, silver and gold
Full SpectrumBaby pink bursts into holographic magenta to party with silver, gold, blue, pink and green particles
Optical IllusionAqua green glimmers with a hint of purple filled with pink, yellow, silver, orange and green flecks

I can’t wait to get all the colors from the collection. I got to try out two colors from the collection – Prism and Optical Illusion – I got compliments on both colors. One girl literally grab my hands when I was paying for my lunch order, yelling to her co-worker “Did you see her nails? Check out her nails.” Naturally I told her it’s the new collection from China Glaze. Check out my pics below:

The China Glaze® Prismatic Collection will be available starting next month – April – with individual shades retail for $8.00.

China Glaze Announces The Hunger Games Collection

China Glaze has teamed up with Lionsgate Studios to release a new nail polish collection to debut in conjunction with the March 23, 2012 release of THE HUNGER GAMES. In keeping with the powerful themes and messages of the story, the collection of nail polish will be inspired exclusively by one of the book’s distinct settings – the Capitol of the nation of Panem (post nuclear war North America). “Awash in lavish fashion, food, and entertainment, Capitol citizens enjoy extreme cosmetics and body modifications, bold wigs, and outlandish costumes.”

In Panem, there is the controlling Capitol city and twelve districts. The China Glaze Hunger Games Collection consists of 12 colors, not sure if this is to represent the 12 districts especially since the names of the colors are more suited to the controlling Capitol’s luxurious lifestyle. The collection of colors, which are still in development, currently contains four creamy solids (Dress Me Up, Foie Gras, Hook and Line and Mahogany Magic), six shimmer shades (Fast Track, Stone Cold, Smoke and Ashes, Agro, Harvest Moon and Riveting) and two glitter shades (Electrify and Luxe and Lush) will be available at specialty beauty retailers beginning on March 1, 2012.

China Glaze is free of DBP, toluene, and added formaldehyde and are available through salons and professional beauty supply stores nationwide. For more information, visit: www.chinaglaze.com or follow China Glaze on Facebook and Twitter: http://twitter.com/ChinaGlaze. China Glaze is a division of American International Industries.

Sally Hansen Gets Crackin with Crackle Overcoat – The Nail Polish Exchange

It takes a lot to get me truly excited about a product but when the Crackle nail effect first starting popping up, I was hooked. I tried creating the effect on my own to utter failure. I first saw this phenom in nail polish form on a few Asian sites and tried my darndest to get product but they were always sold out. But here I am happy as a clam and it’s all because of Sally Hansen. Not only did they make the Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat readily available to me, they have created eight different shade for me to enjoy. Feast your eyes upon the following (in order of appearance) – Vintage Violet, Snow Blast, Fractured Foil, Fuchsia Shock (which I’m currently wearing), Distressed Denim, Antiqued Gold, Ink Splatter and Cherry Smash.

Upon first site, I was already planning my color combinations. I decided to begin with Complete Salon Manicure in Eel Skin (a creamy medium true grey) as my base – two coats. I love the Complete Salon manicure because its base coat, color and top coat in one and makes for quick application

and then added my drama by topping it off Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat in Fuschia Shock

I’ve gotten so many compliments on my nail and have told so many people about it, you’d think I owned stock in Sally Hansen. Unlike OPI, Sally hansen’s Crackle Overcoat is very affordable at $5.95 and premiers with eight shades, so you don’t have to feel guilty about buying several shades. All Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat shades are available now where Sally hansen products are sold but hurry as they’re sure to go fast.

Sinful Colors is Wild About Holiday – Part 2

Here we are on the another Holiday Gift set from Sinful Colors. This set called It’s Holidays with Holiday Color Nail Art and includes five shades of nail polish and three shades of nail art, each retailing for $1.99 each. I got a chance to try two of the Nail colors and the three nail art shades.

In order of appearance in the above photo, Gogo Girl (the candy apple red) is a rich creamy red which gives pretty good coverage on one coat. The Nail Art Colors, featured below are all creamy colors: Be My Valentine (Red), Simple But Fun (Green – which is a less thicker formula than the other two) and Bad Chick (white)

The last nail polish color is HD Nails (green), a jewel-toned emerald green that has more of a glaze than shimmer

These colors are the perfect shades of Christmas colors to recreate and Christmas themed nails (as I attempted above). Sinful Colors is available at major stores and mass market stores nationwide such as Walgreens, Select Targets, Rite Aid, Duane Reade, etc.

Sinful Colors is Wild About Holiday – Part 1

Sinful Colors has introduced three festive sets for the holiday season. Each set is filled with colors to fill you with the holiday spirit. Some will make you joyful while others will put you in a mistletoe kind of mood. I will feature each set individually starting with the set surely to put you in the party mood – Wild About Color

This mini kit includes five twinkling shades in an adorable mini tote which would make a perfect stocking stuffer for any nail polish addict. And while some individual nail polishes cost up to $9.00 per bottle, this gorgeous set of five colors, which will take you from Christmas to New Years, will retail for a mere $4.99. Now lets talk color shall we. Please note, none of these have names as they are minis but hopefully at least some will be added to the main line.

The above deep wine is both creamy and sparkling at the same time – the deep shine doesn’t come from glitter, it seems to have an inner gleam.

This vivacious candy apple red basically speaks for itself. Its rich, deep and bold. A perfect color for any holiday party.

This sheer glitter gold is just a clear polish loaded with gold glitter. Its a great way to add shine and shimmer to any color.

My favorite color from this mini kit, this metallic steel Grey beauty is a duo chrome with purple and blue iridescence shinning through.

Last but certainly not least is this emerald joy, loaded with shimmer. It’s great alone or as an accent color (great to use if you’re doing an ornament design on your nails – mine didn’t come out so great – I’m still working on my steady hand).

Sinful Colors is available at major stores and mass market stores nationwide such as Walgreens, Select Targets, Rite Aid, Duane Reade, etc.
