Black Lagoon Returns with a Spooky & Immersive Cocktail Experience

Black Lagoon Returns with a Spooky & Immersive Cocktail Experience

If you live for spooky season or love someone who does, Black Lagoon should be at the top of your list this year. Returning to Brooklyn, NY, the immersive Halloween pop-up once again takes over Someday Bar, transforming it into a haunting haven that blurs the line between reality and the supernatural. The masterminds behind the eerie experience, Kelsey Ramage and Erin Hayes, bring their creative genius and cocktail craftsmanship to a month-long celebration filled with eerie ambiance and spine-chilling sips.

The Black Lagoon experience is more than just a themed bar; it’s a fully immersive dive into a world where the occult and cocktail artistry collide. Inside Someday Bar, guests are enveloped in a dark, dungeon-like setting bedecked with skulls, life-sized coffins, flickering candles, and other macabre details that set the stage for a truly atmospheric night. Every corner invites guests to lose themselves in the shadows while savoring a menu of Halloween-inspired cocktails that are as imaginative as they are delicious.

Among the standout Black Lagoon drinks are the Nocturna Colada, a tropical-meets-dark delight featuring Kraken Black and Gold rum with passionfruit, coconut, and coffee-cardamom bitters; Griselda’s Revenge, a gin-based elixir brightened by mango and tarragon; and the Corpse Flower, a tequila creation tinted with ube and banana for a strikingly spectral look. The Creature’s Curse, a rye and rum concoction infused with roasted sweet potato or pumpkin syrup, rounds out the hauntingly creative list, each drink embodying a different shade of the season’s eerie palette, from blood red to midnight black to ghostly orange.

Originally conceived in 2019 at The Dungeon, a cult-favorite dive bar in New Orleans, Black Lagoon emerged from Ramage and Hayes’s shared love for dark aesthetics and spirited mixology. Officially launched in 2021, the pop-up quickly grew into a cult phenomenon. Now, five years later, the experience has expanded to 39 locations across the U.S. and Canada, including fan-favorite stops like New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, and Chicago, as well as new haunts in Columbus, Denver, Miami, Calgary, and more.

With each location embracing its own eerie flair, Black Lagoon continues to cast its intoxicating spell over the bar scene, proving that Halloween doesn’t have to end on October 31st. Whether you’re there for the atmosphere, the craftsmanship, or just an excuse to sip something spooky, Black Lagoon’s return promises a chillingly good time for all who dare to enter.
