BCBGMAXAZRIA Fall 2013 Collection

The love affair with the chaotic and eclectic Gypsy style is still on. For Fall 2013 BCBGMAXAZRIA is heavily influenced by the style of the southern European Gypsies with bold prints inspired by the raw, gritty edge of New York Artist, Phil Frost. The collection was a mixture of dark tones, white for add clean and modern touch, rich blues and burgundies and subtle neutrals anchored by black.

Key looks included beautifully printed, shift dresses and tunics layered over unconstrained pants, decadent furs, cozy sweaters and oversized leather jackets for a sportswear element and amazingly delicious thigh-high leather boots

BCBG Max Azria Fall 2012 Collection

At the BCBG Fall Collection Show, color-blocking is here to stay with a very firm grip. The trend, which has been a multi-season favorite, were seen in flowing dresses and asymmetrically skirts, large envelope clutches, leather jackets and fur pieces implemented into outerwear

Softness and femininity flowed throughout the collection with such details as intricate and flowy pleats, geometric shapes, mixed fabrications, sheer paneling, and a bold color palette of navy, rust, ivory and taupe punctuated with brilliant color inclusions of coral, cobalt blue, teal, bordeaux, mustard and kelly green.

The collection was inspired by Bauhaus – Germain paintings from a 1900’s art school that created the melding of fine arts and crafts into design. The collection’s longer silhouette added sophistication and grace to the collection, making it a great followup to their Spring 2012 looks.

BCBG Max Azria Spring 2012 Collection

Color-blocking reigned supreme at the BCBG Max Azria Spring 2012 Show; several of the pieced-together looks featured some very graphic heavy looks and strategically placed cutouts and slits, all in various bold color palettes – almost like wearable pieces of art. Though the looks were quite drapey and relaxed silhouettes, most were punctuated with high side splits that added some very chic sex appeal.

Fluttering panels were incorporated into several looks which gave the collection a lighter than air feel and lots of fluidity. Body conscious women and fans of tunics, kimonos and loose easy fitting dresses will love this collection. Time to exhale my dears, there is no more holing the stomach in.

It’s About TIME!!

As many of you may know, from past posts, I LOVE jewelry. So you can only image how excited I was to get a sneak peak at the newest styles from top fashion watch brands BCBG MAXAZRIA, Breil Milano, Freestyle and Kenneth Cole New York. These fine pieces fit any budget and add class, style and functionality to any wardrobe.

BCBGMAXAZRIA Watches are the premiere lifestyle brand which embodies today’s fashionable woman; effortlessly chic and youthful in spirit. The Spring/Summer 2011 watch collection provides eye-catching timepieces for under $200. A standout is the BCBG Watch with the retro BCBG flower insignia from the “Icon Voyage” collection, they retail for $125 each and come in the following colors – black, green, yellow and white with rose gold.

Breil Milano, the international watch and jewelry brand helmed by visionaries Macello & Simone Binda, captures the essence of today’s trend-setting customer in their Spring/Summer 2011 collection. Any woman or man would be truly excited by their watch collections, timepieces fill with charisma, simple lines, refined and dynamic details. Women will love their jewelry collection which is best described as versatile and multi-functional.

Made from stainless steel, you can wear a necklace long or short, wear a necklace as a bracelet or earrings as short delicate or long, dangling statement pieces…all for no more than $140. For example, can you believe the above photos are all the same necklace? The beauty of this piece is the charming silver balls all have stoppers inside which allows you to move and place them wherever you please. Imagine the possibilities. Breil Milano is launching an online retail shop exclusively for their jewelry next month but if you’re dying for more, go to

Have you heard of Freestyle Watches? Its a name you should know. Freestyle is the watch of choice for surfers and after this season, it will be yours too. This watch line contains watches that feature both bright, bold colors while others have more of a tough, hard edge with athletic functionality that is a fashion conscious man or woman’s dream. For under $125 you can sport the newest timepieces. If you are someone who embraces bold color and modern structure is your style of choice, the fashionable watches from Freestyle are for you.

Last but certainly not least, Kenneth Cole has created a transparent watch that everyone will envy. This watch is inspired by New York City’s art-deco architecture that embodies a “less is more” approach to both classic and sporty timepieces. The industrial style timepieces boast skeleton movements and suspended dials. Available on Saffiano textured and calf leather straps, silicone straps or stainless steel bracelets, the Transparency collection is sure to tantalize the appetite of every city dweller. Kenneth Cole also introduced the beauty of ceramic bands to several timepieces in the collection. I love the chic combination of Rose Gold and White ceramic. Speaking of the combination of Rose Gold and White, my favorite Kenneth Cole timepiece actually had a more futuristic and interactive aspect – its the Touch Screen Digital

Upon first sight, it looks like a simple and chic classic face but this amazing watch features touch-sensor technology, view time for 32 cities in the world, stainless steel case, rubber strap, is water resistant and has a backlight for nighttime viewing – I love it.

If you are in the market for a new statement timepiece, you should get more acquainted with these brands, one will definitely have something to match your style and taste.

BCBG MaxAzria Spring 2010 Show

At BCBG MaxAzria, it was a mix of late 80’s early 90’s chic with a bit of rocker edge in this body flaunting collection. It also confirmed that Spring 2010 will be all about bright and vivid colors, ruched dresses and lots of jersey and chiffon. The looks were edgy, chic but oh so feminine. This collection featured a perfect mix of soft and sexy silhouettes; it actually reminded me a lot of Michelle Pfeiffer’s character, Susie Diamond, from 1989’s The Fabulous Baker Boys or Kim Basinger during that same time period – sultry, sexy, a woman who knows how to use her feminine wilds.

I especially loved the print dresses from this collection – the contrast of the basic black mixed with the boldness of the print took the collection to another level. I remember an episode of Project Runway where one of the contestants, Qristal tried to so a dress that was half print/half solid color (I believe the solid color was a purple satin) in the episode with Lindsay Lohan but she didn’t quite execute it properly. Below is what she was trying to achieve

My favorite was this Multi-colored one shoulder striped mesh dress. It was a simple chic dress in non-simple fabrication. I see the linkes of Heidi Montag or Mischa Barton in this dress

The 80’s are back with an even bigger vengance than before ladies,so prepare yourself. Excuse me while I start to get my body ready. I leave you with the show finale.

At BCBGMAXAZRIA, the future rained supreme with some looks done in the most vivid cream fabrics I have ever seen; with architecturally modern touches like structured collars and square necklines with very minimal but quite noticeable detailing, the collection captured your attention.

But of course not everything was the crisp cream hue that you see above. Other colors included black and the lovely Pale Mauve, Dusty Rose and muted Wine (colors I noticed a lot during the shows)

One thing I immediately fell in love with at BCBGMAZAZRIA were the Gunmetal and gold tights. There were many seen on the runways this season but I love the tone of the BCBGMAZAZRIA ones. Unfortunately I couldn’t get a detailed photo of them but they can be seen in the show’s finale which I videotaped and will end this post with.

As stated before , there was a very futuristic vision to the collection but I did see some vintage influences, medieval to be exact – think Maid Marion from Robin Hood. I’m talking about the long velvet dresses that appeared towards the end of the show. Again, sorry to say I didn’t get any photos (someone seated in front of me kept on standing up and blocking the view from my seat)but luckily, I did get them in the video.

On another note, I try to get a list of who attends the shows that are in my view and seated directly across the runway from me was Celebrity Stylist and Fashion Host, Phillip Bloch. I’m sure there were other celebs but as always, I pay more attention to the clothing than the guests. I only noticed him because he as in my direct line of sight.

Anyway, as promised, I leave you with the show finale.
