Though the temperature still reaches above 80 degrees outside, the fall collections have started to hit retailers. Lands’ End has some very exciting looks in their fall 2012 collection. What can you expect? Lots of beautiful bold colors, the classic American style that Lands’ End is known for, fresh new styles that easily go from casual settings to more sophisticated events.

Upon entry into the preview, we saw Lands’ End’s top ten most wanted looks for Fall 2012. From chic Ponte dresses and richly-hued stretch chinos to Double-knit Jackets and stunning capes. What ten items should be in your wardrobe this fall? Cardigan, Dress Shirt, Dress, Colored Chino, Tweed Blazer, Coat, Blouse, Cape

While Lands’ End offered several must have pieces and featured great layering of color and textures, there are some pieces that really stood out to me (and I hope makes it into my closet) are below:

Lands’ End is known for making some of the most amazing outwear and the offerings in this season’s collection do not disappoint. Want an elegant cape? Lands’ End has two choices, how about a structured, tailored jacket? Then you’ll love the Tweed Blazers and other menswear inspired silhouettes (check out their awesome vests).

My favorite item from the collection (which is why it’s shown twice) is the above Navy single-breasted coat with tonal stitching and wide, double grey stripes – that detail combined with Lands’ End superb craftsmanship makes it a beautiful must-have.

Lands’ End also introduces their new collection of Land’s End Woman “Just For You” with Brittany Gibbons, co-founder of Curvy Girl Guide to create a better plus size collection that’s more flattering, feminine and in better size proportions that will give the consumer a better shopping experience.

Winter staples are of course ever present in their collection, the Quilted jacket abound in color, cozy scarves and gloves get you ready for both the ski season and the tumultuous city winter.

Lands End Spring/Summer 2012 Women’s Collection

So many things to look forward to during the warmer months – beautiful weather, rooftop parties and chic dresses. For spring/summer 2012, Lands’ End has some amazing chic dresses in bold, fun colors and blooming floral patterns that will charm the pants of of you.

Dresses with flared skirts, shirt dresses, surplice dresses, sheaths were shown belted, layered under cardigans, paired with summer scarves and statement necklaces for flirty and sophisticated modern looks. While the clothing featured vibrant colors and patterns, accessories were mostly toned down. Linen, straw and canvas bags were trimmed with tan leather with summer scarves providing bursts of color. I especially love the canvas and leather trimmed Two-piece Sandals.

Lands’ End introduces a new innovation in swimwear called SwimMates™, designed for women to mix things up when it comes to styles, colors and patterns. Labeled the “4-Piece Bikini,” SwimMates are swim layers that transform the notion of traditional swimwear. The concept starts with a two-piece bikini as the foundation and then offers layering swim pieces including a cami, swim shorts or swim skirt.

The SwimMates collection is an innovative swimsuit concept that will change the way women wear swimsuits. Here’s how it works:

Start with a SwimMates Bikini – The SwimMates Bikini is the foundation and comes in several styles including bra-sized bikini tops in sweetheart, halter or bandeau options and regular or mid-rise bikini bottoms.

Layer with a Cami – The SwimMates cami has been designed to layer on top of the bikini foundation. This piece comes in henley, racerback and scoopneck designs in a variety of colors and patterns.

Pull on a Swim Skirt or Shorts – Add a SwimMates skirt or shorts over the foundation bikini for more coverage. All four pieces are designed to work together for maximum coverage.

Mix n’ Mix – From dots and stripes to florals and solids, the SwimMates collection comes in a variety of patterns to provide an opportunity to mix it up and create individual looks. The bold color palette ranges from Bright Lemon and Tropical Turquoise to Glade Green and Fresh Orchid.

Aside from the SwimMates, Lands’ End featured an amazing array of swimsuits, below are my favorites

The Lands’ End SwimMates collection is currently available online at and in Lands’ End Shops at Sears nationwide and pieces range from $30.00 to $55.00.
