Winter Warmers: Outdoor Survival Canada Outerwear

Although we enjoyed a small uptick in this week’s temperature, we’re slated to see a decrease in degrees in the upcoming days. Although we’re not seeing any snow yet, we are in for some cold weather and that means it’s time to start bringing out the heavy winter coats…..are you cold weather ready? We’re getting ourselves ready with a great outerwear brand we were introduced to called OSC (Outdoor Survival Canada). As we’re writing this, we can hear the chilly wind howling outside. These people certainly know their winter attire, no surprise since Canada is our neighbor closest to the north pole.

Lands’ End Holiday 2014 Collection

When one typically thinks of winter and holiday fashion, chunky knit sweaters, lots of plaid, and cozy wool come to mind; and we love when fashion labels fully embrace those signature holiday details. Hence why we love the Lands’ End Holiday 2014 Collection. The collection is bursting with classic plaids such as Tartans and tattersall; the colors, prints and silhouettes associated with the holiday season, in some of the most stylish options. We’re especially excited about their Stewart plaid pieces, a white-based plaid we hope to see again next holiday season. And of course Land’ End offers the personal touch on gift ideas with monogramming on everything from scarves, to sweaters and totes.

There’s so much to love this holiday from Lands’ End, the chic quilted parkas, equestrian jackets, and wool pea coats with leather trims, faux fur stoles juxtaposed with chunky knits, the chic year-round cashmere sweaters with a fun pop of color trimmed on the inside collar, and inner sleeve cuff, and of course your favorite Lands’ End accessories in the wonderful, seasonal patterns.

One gift (really, more than one) we’re really looking forward to receiving are the Lands’ End holiday treats. We’re looking forward to devouring the delicious Sea Salt Caramels, Cranberry Almond Myrtles, Peppermint Crunch Cookies, and English Butter Toffee. These delicious items come perfectly wrapped in your favorite Lands’ End patterns.

We’re keeping our fingers crossed that some of these items make it from our wishlist to under our tree. What are you wishing for this holiday season?

Holiday Gift Guide: Stay at Home w/ Life is Good

There is nothing we love better than staying home, getting warm and comfy, and enjoying a good cup of tea on those really cold winter nights. On days like this, our couch is our go-to hangout spot, making staying at home “the place to be”. Of course, we’re not hanging around the house in some ratted clothes, especially if there’s a need to run to the store, grab our food order from the cute delivery guy or a if there’s a chance we’ll see our cute neighbor. That’s right, although we’re relaxing at home, we still want to look cute. Some of our coziest finds are from the feel good company, Life is Good. We’ve previously shared the positive vibes, great charity support, and easy going fashions from the company from their Fall 2014 Collection, and Breast Cancer Awareness Month Collection, so today we’re sharing our favorite items from their holiday collection to cuddle up at home in.

Life is Good Stay-at Home Gift Guide

We’re going to pour ourselves into the durable and super soft Together Now Tree Long Sleeve Crusher Tee, a weathered t-shirt with a classic fit and holiday phrasing and layer it under the Holiday Sleep Hoodie, a cowl neck hoodie with cotton twill drawstrings and kangaroo pocket. We may pair it with the brushed cotton twill Flannel Snowflake Sleep Pants to really show off our holiday spirit or go for the more understated Softwash Sweatpants from their essentials collection.

Depending on how cold it gets, we may keep our feet nice and cozy either with the Life is Good Lightweight Snuggle Socks, the decadently plush, knee-high Winter Cozy Socks, or the yummy Cozy Ballet Slippers, which boasts a soft, faux fur lining and elastic at the heel for a better fit. To top it off, we’ll be enjoying delicious mugs of tea, hot chocolate, or hot toddies in our Joy Snowflake Good Cheer Mug (it also comes in a Love Snowflake and Hope Snowflake), or Joy and Love Stack-Happy Mug if we’re sharing our day with a visitor.

Naturally, these items make great holiday gifts, especially for those who enjoy an afternoon of relaxation. Find these and many more holiday gift options on www.lifeisgood.com.

Comfy & Cozy | Winter Favorites from PACT

As the weather gets colder, all we’re thinking of is being as cozy and comfy as possible. Of course this means taking the time to enjoy a little lounging and outfitting ourselves in some super soft organic cotton pieces in fun patterns. It didn’t take us too long to gravitate to PACT, who provides everyday essentials such as socks, underwear, leggings and tees made ethically with the softest of organic cotton. The brand is fair trade and makes sure their facilities uses no pesticides, no fertilizers, no bleaches, and no sweatshops. For Holiday 2014, PACT offers these must-have essentials in colors and prints that both celebrate the season, and can be used all year round….as long as you can get the limited edition prints before they sell out.

Cuddle up in PACT Organic Cotton Basics this Winter

Winter is all about comfort and warmth, especially when temperatures drop to single digit numbers. Layering is a key factor when getting dressed or surviving this winter. Whether you’re layering up to go out or just need something to lounge around the house comfortably, look no further than PACT for some tees, leggings (we are totally in love with the leggings), socks, and beanies to cuddle up in.

But PACT is actually more than that. The basics for men, women and babies also helps change the world but won’t damage your budget. For example, every purchase this season helps fund entrepreneurs in low-income communities around the world! And no items is over $40.00. So not only do you get pieces made from super soft organic cotton at great prices, you are contributing to helping PACT make a difference. We’re currently obsessed with their limited edition, Fair Isle print leggings (which goes up to size XL) featured directly below paired with their uber-soft Pointelle Longsleeve Tee in cream.

From casual, everyday winter favorites, festive holiday staples to chic holiday party looks, looking great this season is a must. With this collection, LOFT provides everything you need to “take a moment to be in the spotlight” and “make a memory” this holiday season.

The collection featured sweaters in plush, cozy oatmeal and pale grey hues and sequins, metallic embellished and luxe accessories, contrasting textured blazers, tops and dresses. Feminine details such as tulle, ruffles, lace, bows, pearls, etc. Two of our favorite pieces are a long-sleeved blouse with a pearl embellished peter pan collar (we love the vintage and romantic feel of it) and a sequined striped long-sleeved t-shirt

Other favorite pieces include multi-pearlized and gem sweatshirt, mini polka dot sweatshirt, multicolored sequined coin purses, tassel key rings, and just about all the statement necklaces.

So there you have it, this is how LOFT will keep you looking fabulous this holiday season. Which pieces are you planning to add to your wardrobe?

Snow Patrol | 2012 Winter Fashions and Outerwear

I had the pleasure of attending the SnowSports Industries America (SIA) preview for an exlcusive look at the latest winter fashions, accessories and equipment from the Industry’s biggest Brands. Check out some of winter’s must have looks for on and off the ski slopes

SPYDER

As the world’s leading skiwear and mountain-based apparel brand, Spyder integrates high-tech fabrics, fashion and functionality. My favorite from their preview is the above featured flight suit-inspired Eternity Suit ($1,250.00) which combines extreme luxury with highly technical fabrication. The full stretch, waterproof and breathable one-piece belted suit has sexy linear curves and a split hood construction, adorned with supple coyote fur, to transform into a shoulder shawl to accommodate changing weather and style attitudes.

OBERMEYER

What’s old is new again at Obermeyer. The brand goes back to its archives and re-releases some of their classic 70s alpine sweaters like the above Eskimo Kisses Sweater, which is available in a variety of colors and features snowflakes across the chest and a traditional “SKI” prominent down the side of the arm.

DESCENTE

One of my favorite brands from the preview was Descente because of their very innovative and fashionable outerwear. Their Chloe Jacket (above in olive) is a great fusion of the fashion and function you can expect from Descente. It features a motocross-inspired styling with stud detail and leather accents all wrapped up in a soft and luxurious fabric. It’s performance elements include Heat Navi heat-harnessing technology, 3D Motion pattern, and an abundance of comfort enhancing features.

KILLY

Another favorite from the preview was Killy. Created by Olympic Gold Medalist Jean Claude Killy, the women’s collection is practically tailored to fit the curves of the female body. The above yellow Odyssée W Jacket is stylish and feminine, this ultralight and iridescent belted jacket features a double-collar, lots of style and a body flattering silhouette.

EIDER

The Eider Nunavut Down Skirt doesn’t believe that minis should be relegated to summer or that you should freeze your bum off should shiver in a bum-chilling skirt in the winter. It’s not only cute, it features light and breathable fabric, is easily packable, water repellent, and is highly resistant to abrasions and tears.
