NYFW the Shows: Pamella Roland Fall Winter 2018 Womenswear

It’s no surprise that women who crave sophistication, comfort, and glamour flock to the fashion collections of Pamella Roland. Mrs. Roland has continuously been a go-to for elegant, modern womenswear. Her Fall Winter 2018 Womenswear collection is no different. For this NYFW season, the Pamella Roland Fall Winter 2018 Womenswear collection is inspired by the royal jewels, history, and architecture of one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Prague.

Prague boasts spellbinding architectural gems from the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque era, all of which remain intact. Through embroidery, Pamella Roland incorporates ornate metallic threadwork, sequins, crystal appliques, pearls, and a variety of feathers into luxe cashmere, fil coupes, and jacquards to translate baroque-era motifs and represent the royal Prague interior in fabric form.

The main focus of the Pamella Roland Fall Winter 2018 Womenswear collection color palette is jewel tones in ruby, amethyst, sapphire, and emerald. Highlighting these deep, rich tones are metallic gold and gunmetal elements to create an authentic experience of the extraordinary and precious masterpieces that are the Bohemian crown jewels. The Pamella Roland Fall Winter 2018 Womenswear collection also incorporates Pamella Roland’s signature sleek looks (with a bit more extravagance), dramatic feminine silhouettes using tulle, and creatic fabric manipulation.

Some of our favorite looks from the Pamella Roland Fall Winter 2018 Womenswear collection include the sapphire and silver baroque motif cloqué off-the-shoulder top and pant, the emerald stretch crepe cocktail dress with pearl embroidered bodice and fringe hem, the black floor length lurex cape coat over black stretch-crepe strapless bustier jumpsuit with oversized crystal embroidery, the black lurex crepe coat with silver, ruby, and amethyst ombre sequin cocktail dress, the very striking hematite metallic embroidered baroque motif fringe gown (easily our ultimate favorite), the amethyst ombre sequin and ostrich feather kimono caped gown (our second favorite piece), and the gold threadwork embroidered gown with flounce tiered baroque motif cloqué skirt.

As we stated at the beginning, women who crave sophistication, comfort, and glamour flock to Pamella Roland, and her fall-winter 2018 womenswear collection clearly shows why. What are your thoughts on the Pamella Roland Fall Winter 2018 womenswear collection?

NYFW the Shows: Pamella Roland Spring 2018 Collection

There’s a quote by American Fashion Designer, Elizabeth Hawes that goes, “The French legend is a very simple one. All really beautiful clothes are designed in the houses of the French couturiers and all women want these clothes.” That is what was brought to our minds as we relished in the stunning Pamella Roland Spring 2018 Collection during NYFW.  Our first runway show of the season definitely started with a very breathtaking bang as we watched the 33-look collection beautifully glide down the runway.

No surprise what this quote popped into our minds as the effervescent Pamella Roland Spring 2018 Collection is inspired by the French Riviera. An ode to the glamorous seaside town of Monte Carlo, the Pamella Roland Spring 2018 Collection featured hand draped tulle ball gowns and clean streamlined silhouettes that we’re sure Princess Grace Kelly would covet. Looks were decorated in intricate metallic fringe, crystal, and sequin firework motifs, 3-D degrade embroidered scalloping, fabric manipulated flowers, and feather plumes.

Much of the magic and glamour you find in Monte Carlo was celebrated in the ombre Mikado, pleated tulle, and embroidered lace that made up the sea of luxurious fabrics you see above. The collection’s color palette boasted royal tones of cobalt, navy, and aqua (very much like the tones of the Côte d’Azur coastline) that seamlessly briefly sparked to hues of fuchsia, then paled down to elegant blush and lilac.

The collection also featured high low gowns, capes, lots of layered tulle, and bow details that rounded out a collection fit for a princess or glamorous Hollywood starlet. Some of our favorite looks from Pamella Roland (we’ve had a difficult time narrowing it down to three) include the sensuous blush and fuschia ombre Mikado draped cocktail dress, the lilac, and white ostrich feather cocktail dress with pleated tulle waistband, and the lilac high low gown with hand draped tulle.

NYFW the Resort Shows: Pamella Roland RE18 Collection Presentation

It’s been said that while you’re out looking everywhere else for beauty, it’s usually right in your own backyard. In this case of inspiration for the Pamella Roland RE18 Collection, this sentiment is vastly true. You see, the acclaimed fashion designer found her inspiration for her 2018 Resort collection right in her own backyard – her backyard garden to be precise. Inspired by the variety of colors and textures of her garden, Pamella Roland presented a stunning collection of evening wear that included gowns, jumpsuits, separates, and cocktail dresses. The Collection presentation was held at luxury Italian Jeweller, BVLGARI.

Like her colorful garden, the Pamella Roland RE18 Collection featured a varied palette of geranium, violet, yellow, pale pink, metallics, black, white, and pretty floral prints. Several looks from the collection featured such embellishments as nude illusion, sequins, fringe, beading, and in some pieces, a combination of all these embellishments. Highlights from the collection included 3-D floral appliqués and multi-layered ruffles.

Our favorite look from the Pamella Roland RE18 Collection? The showstopping dark grey chiffon gown which featured tightly layered ombre ruffles that belled out into a voluminous skirt. The showstopper also boasted Rosettes and Roland’s sheer stripe paneling. We had the pleasure of getting an up-close and personal view of the spectacular gown in all its glory, which you can see in the photo and video below:

Isn’t this gown a dream? You can see why we couldn’t help but fall in love with this beauty. And speaking of beauty, another highlight of the evening was the attendance of Vanessa L. Williams, who is killing it as the HBIC on VH1’s Daytime Divas. Here she is below with Pamella Roland.

What are your thoughts on the Pamella Roland RE18 Collection Presentation? Which of these gorgeous looks were your favorites? We can’t wait to see what Pamella Roland delivers during NYFW the Shows in September.

Pamella Roland Spring 2011 Collection

Usually a new designer comes roaring out the box with an over the top collection that leaves buyers and editors toting them as the next this or that. That’s all fine and well, but Helmut Lang was once quoted as saying that it can take a good 10 years for even a talented designer to make a mark. That’s may be due to the fact that it takes time to cultivate and consistently get it right in the public eye. This in turn creates a following from buyers and the public alike. That in turn creates sales and growth for the designer and their house.

Pamella Roland busted onto the design scene in 2002 as a designer who make sophisticated dresses that had the appeal of 80’s sophistication with the streamlined appeal of the 90’s. Add the youthful ease of the new millennium and Roland was instantly heralded as a talented designer on the rise to bring women back to lovely high occasion frocks that they would wear more than once. Her induction into the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) is only one indication that her philanthropy and entrepreneurial backgrounds made a great pair for her hands-on design savvy. Just ask the A-list celebrities who don her clothing on the red carpet or simply check out the photos below from her spring 2011 presentation.

The Spring 2011 Pamela Rolland collection, inspired by her travels to the majestic beauty and allure of the Greek Isles, was filled with what she does best. Ms. Roland is an American designer and brings her aesthetic to her wonderfully tailored American sportswear and gowns alike. She has a knack for beautiful yet understated prints which she showed on chiffons in fire-burst orange prints that were as sexy as they were sweet.

She definitely turned up her red carpet ‘umph’ appeal with luminescent silver, black and white sequined and lame gowns and beautifully draped neutral tone ones as well. Her array of nude colored sportswear was an ultimately sell-able collection complete with embroidered cut-out shifts and coat dresses and draped trousers and mini-dresses and in vibrant navies and navy prints.

My particular favorite was a full length laser cut tiered navy gown that if I don’t see on someone on the red carpet in a few weeks, I’ll shout injustice.

Kudos to Ms. Rolland and her growth as a designer. Her choreographed rise is creating a broader path for her to go in many directions for the continued growth of her collection. Men’s maybe, kids maybe? Who knows. However, whatever the direction, expect more gorgeous dresses and for them to not be on the rack very long.

Several celebrities were in attendance to take in Pamella Roland’s vision including Hilary Swank, Lori Loughlin, Ramona Singer, Charlotte Ross, Gail Simmons, Denise Richards (not pictured), etc
