The Most Valuable Commodity: Fine Unisex Fragrances for Fall

What is your most valuable singular commodity? For us, it’s the sense of self. Knowing what makes us who we are. This ranges from our family and friends, our favorite colors, music, foods, and of course fragrances. A fragrance is a very personal thing. Not everyone will like the same scents, plus our body chemistry adds to how the final notes of a fragrance are received. We change our fragrance with our moods, and sometimes the season, or not at all. Do you do this as well? As we stated, a fragrance is a very personal thing, and we are set in our likes. So when we find a new fragrance that blows us over, we get excited. We knew exactly which of the Commodity Eau de Parfums we’d love just from the notes. We love intense fragrances, which is why we were drawn to the Commodity Black Collection. The warm and spicy scent of Commodity Wool Eau de Parfum immediately drew us in. Created by perfumer Donna Ramanauskus, we immediately smelled the fresh citrusy top notes, which dried down beautifully into the warm and cozy amber and bourbon vanilla notes. We wore this wonderful fragrance for two weeks to numerous compliments. We’re excited to try the Commodity Bergamot Eau de Parfum next. It too promises the energizing freshness of citrus.

Commodity’s unisex fragrances are available in 100ml Eau de Parfums, and 10ml Eau de Parfum. The 100ml bottles from the Platinum Collection retail for $135.00 each, the 10ml for $30.00. The 100ml from the Black, and White Collections retail for $105.00 each, with the 10ml at $26.00. All of these fine fragrances can be found on www.Commodity.co.uk, and at Sephora locations worldwide.

The Cartier Fragrances We’re Loving for the Fall 2017 Season

It’s time for another season of change…….literally. As we go from the warmth of the summer season to the coolness of fall, we, much like the leaves on a tree, change. Our wardrobe, food, sometimes even our personal appearance changes. And of course, our fragrance choices change to match the new season. We put away the sweet, fresh and vibrant Eau de parfums for bold, musky scents. So we say goodbye to summer fragrances like Cartier Baiser Fou for women (a fragrance we admit we’ll continue to wear well into the fall season), and swap in fragrances that evoke the beauty of the fall season. Today we’re highlighting two wonderful Cartier fragrances created by Cartier Perfumer Mathilde.

First is our beloved Cartier Baiser Fou a fragrance that has captivated may during the warmer months, and Cartier’s newest fall fragrance for men, L’Envol de Cartier Eau de Toilette. Both of these fragrances elicit a feeling of power, boldness, and unstoppable verve.

Cartier Baiser Fou

Meaning “crazy kiss” in French – the sweet-scented Cartier Baiser Fou fragrance is mischievous, yet feminine, confident and playful. This sultry floral Eau de parfum is made up of the iconic sensual purple orchid, along with a touch of white chocolate, creating the balmy scent of a lipstick. For the first time, lilies and orchids have been explored in all their facets to create this memorable floral scent. Baier Fou is housed in a modern jeweled bottle, capped with a crimson cabochon.

L’Envol de Cartier Eau de Toilette

New for men this fall is the fresh and woody l’Eau de Toilette The Envol de Cartier. This fresh oriental features bold citrus notes and gaiac wood to give the wearer the confidence to fly this fall. Hesperide cloud, the sap of Gaiac wood and hydromel notes meet in a magnetic, luminous and liberating fluid. This is all the power of the masculine perfume L’Envol de Cartier. The bottle encapsulates the fragrance like a vital bulb. This precious object is part of Cartier’s great stylistic tradition, that of the guillochage, whose corks take up the famous motif.

What are your thoughts on these Cartier fragrances? Do you wear your favorite fragrances out of season?

Introducing Thymes Agave Nectar

Thymes, maker of some of the most amazingly scented products. In fact, I have several body washes, lotions and colognes from some of my favorite scents from their fragrance-based collections such as Red Cherie, Azur, and Moonflower. This fall, they have added a new favorite which captures more than just the essence of the desert – Agave Nectar.

The Thymes Agave Nectar products, which include Body Lotion, Body Wash, Foaming Bath, Cologne, Hand Creme, Bar Soap, etc,  contains the nourishing and rich hydrating  nectar from the Agave Cactus, Jojoba, Aloe Vera to soothe and heal the skin, a blend of Ruby Red Grapefruit, tangy Guava and lemon blossom to enliven the skin.

As with all Thymes products, Agave Nectar is paraben-free and free of other harmful ingredients such as SLES, SLS, propylene glycol, mineral oil, petrolatum and animal-derived ingredients. See below for find out more on Agave Nectar.

While the nourishing and moisturizing factors of Agave Nectar got my attention, it was the scent that captured my soul; while the ingredients are mostly from the desert, I got a tropical bouquet once I breathed the fragrance in which obviously comes from the addition of the guava, lemon and grapefruit. This tropical aroma gives an especially refreshing and awakening feel to your skin with every use.
