Kenneth Cole Launches Mankind Legacy Fragrance

We don’t normally cover many things for men, but when it involves meeting a fashion icon, the answer is always yes. We had the pleasure of being invited to the launch of the new Kenneth Cole fragrance, Mankind Legacy, with the famed fashion designer. Set against the stunning skyline of downtown NYC, the fashionable came out to celebrate the new fragrance for men.

Kenneth Cole Kenneth Cole Mankind Legacy Fragrance

Mankind Legacy by Kenneth Cole is a spicy woody fragrance for men with a global ingredient list. Partnering with perfumer Stephen Nilsen, they brought together notes from nine different countries to create this fragrance. Mankind Legacy opens with citrus and icy aromatic notes of sage that provides a lively freshness and surge of energy; comforting rosemary follows, imparting a feeling of well-being. Warm, reassuring notes of vetiver and Amyris create a long-lasting scent that asserts confidence.

“The inspiration to create this fragrance came from the notion that legacy-building is not about what we might achieve one day, it’s about what we can accomplish every day,” says Kenneth Cole, Chairman and Chief Creative Officer at Kenneth Cole Productions, Inc.  “I believe that we live in a complicated world with increasing possibilities, and as more and more people determine their purpose and realize their potential, the more meaningful it all becomes.”

Nilsen states, “While the finely crafted scent fits the Kenneth Cole brand legacy of impeccable grooming, it is the emotional legacy we impart that I wanted to capture in a scent.”

The men’s Eau de Toilette boasts top notes from France, Italy, and Indonesia; middle notes from Canada, California, and Morocco; and base notes from Haiti, Tunisia, and the Dominican Republic.

The fragrance notes include:

TOP NOTES – Clary Sage, Mandarin Oil, and Nutmeg Oil

The packaging is inspired by New York City’s iconic architecture and ever-evolving facades. The bottle is encased in a metal band; reminiscent of the steel infrastructure that holds these buildings together for the years. The blue color represents the water and sky reflecting off of the metallic buildings. Mr. Cole addressed the crowd at the launch event, getting us more acquainted with his new men’s eau de toilette. The Cartier Fragrances We’re Loving for the Fall 2017 Season

It’s time for another season of change…….literally. As we go from the warmth of the summer season to the coolness of fall, we, much like the leaves on a tree, change. Our wardrobe, food, sometimes even our personal appearance changes. And of course, our fragrance choices change to match the new season. We put away the sweet, fresh and vibrant Eau de parfums for bold, musky scents. So we say goodbye to summer fragrances like Cartier Baiser Fou for women (a fragrance we admit we’ll continue to wear well into the fall season), and swap in fragrances that evoke the beauty of the fall season. Today we’re highlighting two wonderful Cartier fragrances created by Cartier Perfumer Mathilde.

First is our beloved Cartier Baiser Fou a fragrance that has captivated may during the warmer months, and Cartier’s newest fall fragrance for men, L’Envol de Cartier Eau de Toilette. Both of these fragrances elicit a feeling of power, boldness, and unstoppable verve.

Cartier Baiser Fou

Meaning “crazy kiss” in French – the sweet-scented Cartier Baiser Fou fragrance is mischievous, yet feminine, confident and playful. This sultry floral Eau de parfum is made up of the iconic sensual purple orchid, along with a touch of white chocolate, creating the balmy scent of a lipstick. For the first time, lilies and orchids have been explored in all their facets to create this memorable floral scent. Baier Fou is housed in a modern jeweled bottle, capped with a crimson cabochon.

L’Envol de Cartier Eau de Toilette

New for men this fall is the fresh and woody l’Eau de Toilette The Envol de Cartier. This fresh oriental features bold citrus notes and gaiac wood to give the wearer the confidence to fly this fall. Hesperide cloud, the sap of Gaiac wood and hydromel notes meet in a magnetic, luminous and liberating fluid. This is all the power of the masculine perfume L’Envol de Cartier. The bottle encapsulates the fragrance like a vital bulb. This precious object is part of Cartier’s great stylistic tradition, that of the guillochage, whose corks take up the famous motif.

What are your thoughts on these Cartier fragrances? Do you wear your favorite fragrances out of season?

Scent of a Woman: Jimmy Choo L’Eau Eau de Toilette Fragrance

We are less than a month away from the first day of the spring season. We’re anxiously waiting for the season for blooming flowers. The season of new blooms always makes us think of the wonderful fragrances that await us. When we say, wonderful fragrances, we don’t just mean flowers. Launched earlier this month (hopefully, you were lucky enough to receive it as a Valentine’s Day gift), was the newest fragrance from Jimmy Choo fragrances, Jimmy Choo L’Eau. The newest fragrance is a sensual evocation of the Jimmy Choo woman, with pure and subtle notes heightened by the hibiscus flower.

Composed by perfumer Juliette Karagueuzoglou, Jimmy Choo L’EAU evokes a radiant femininity as the fragrance combines a symphony of floral, fresh and musky notes. Top notes of hibiscus flower and bergamot blend with sweet nectarine and floral peony at the heart of the scent. The fruity and floral notes are grounded by the fragrance’s base notes of heady cedarwood and musk; embodying the sensual yet sweet contrasts at the heart of the Jimmy Choo woman.

Top Notes: Bergamot and Hibiscus Flower
Heart: Nectarine and Peony
Base Notes: Cedarwood and Musks

“Jimmy Choo L’Eau captures the scent of a delicious thirst-quenching hibiscus flower blended with barks, fruits and vibrant woods, to create a radiant feminine sensuality.” Juliette Karagueuzoglou, Perfumer.

The ethereal, cocoon shaped bottle, which encases the iridescent liquid inside, is inspired by Venetian Murano glass. Its elongated form offers a slender and more refined silhouette of the signature bottle, in pale pink evoking notions of delicate and sensual femininity. A light pink lacquering delicately highlights the circles on the elegant bottle which is topped with a pale pink 3D cube with metallic gilded edges, adding a touch of modernity to the luxurious design. The outer packaging features an ethereal pale pink snakeskin print, a signature of the Jimmy Choo brand.

Jimmy Choo L’Eau is available in three sizes, 90ml/3.0oz. Natural EDT spray ($98.00), 60ml/2oz. Natural EDT spray ($78.00), and a 40ml/1.3oz. Natural EDT spray ($55.00). Jimmy Choo L’Eau available at Macy’s, www.Macys.com, Nordstrom, and www.Nordstrom.com.

Get Seduced by Thierry These Mugler Summer Fragrances

The world will forever be separated into good and bad girls. Some girls are sugar and spice and everything nice and some are cheeky. After all, there must be ying to a yang, a heaven to a hell, an Angel to an……Alien. This summer, Thierry Mugler offers two new fragrances that are sure to entice no matter which category you proclaim yourself. The master of fragrance welcomes Angel Eau Sucrée and Alien Eau Extraordinaire.Angel Eau Sucrée EDT

Sugar may be sweet but it is also decadent, mouth-watering and sensual; these words also perfectly describe Mugler’s sugary indulgence, Angel Eau Sucrée. This tantalizing gourmand fragrance is playful, seductive, and an aromatic and provocative delight. Based on three delicious accords: Red fruits Sorbet, Caramelized Meringue, and Patchouli & Vanilla, this limited edition fragrance will have you smelling good enough to eat. Created by Dorothee Piot for Robertet and features the iconic Angel bottle coated with a sugary frosting of playful shimmer. The 3oz EDT retails for $89.00 and is available at Thierry Mugler counters nationwide and on www.muglerstoreusa.com.

Alien Eau Extraordinaire EDP

For those who love the combination of a warm floral and woody fragrance, you will love this smoldering scent. Dominique Ropion and Veronique Nyberg for IFF takes Alien to new olfactory dimensions with this luminous eau de parfum. Versace Launches New Fragrance: Yellow Diamond

Versace has added a new fragrance to their range, an enchanting fresh floral called Yellow Diamond. Described as “a burst of juicy freshness and enveloping sensuality”, the Versace Yellow Diamond Eau de Toilette is certainly captivating and will excite those who love a feminine fragrance

The color of the fragrance and packaging are significant as Donatella quotes “The yellow colour recalls the brightness, sensuality and great energy of this fragrance, able to depict and emphasize the charm and femininity of a woman”. Created by Euroitalia, Inc., Versace Yellow Diamond opens with fresh and fruity notes courtesy of Citron from Diamante, Pear Sorbet, Neroli and Bergamot. At the heart of the fragrance, which gives it its floral personality, you will find Waterlily, Freesia, Orange Blossom and Mimosa with a dry down of Amber Wood, Palo Santo and Musk.

The fragrance comes in three sizes – 30ml EDT, 50ml EDT and a 90ml EDT (pictured above). It also comes in an accompanying Bath Line consisting of a 200ml Perfumed Shower Gel and 200ml Perfumed Body Lotion.

The Shower Gel, a soft cleansing gel that is refreshing and moisturizing and the Body Lotion, a fluid soft cream-milk that is delightfully refreshing, both feature the pleasant scent of Versace Yellow Diamond.

“The bottle is a unique creation, the luxury of clean geometry. A design of timeless elegance, an exquisite modern piece of unrivaled beauty. Essential lines, precisely placed facets to maximize colour and brilliance. The very elegant and faceted crystal cap seals a bouquet of extreme pureness. Cut as a real diamond, it creates amazing effects and games of light.”

The design of the box is inspired by a characteristic baroque Versace decoration, it features a color range from pale to vivid yellow with the logo in sparkling blue for stunning contrast.

Make sure you mark your calenders, because the official Versace Yellow Diamond Facebook Page is launching on January 25, 2012 and to celebrate this launch, Versace Yellow Diamond will be offering a deluxe sample to the first 100K people that sign up.

Eau Duelle – diptyque’s New Fall Fragrance

There are several fragrances from diptyque that I love and use in various forms (eau de toilette, bath soaps, body washes, home fragrances, candles, etc) so when we got a preview of their newest fragrance, Eau Duelle, I knew I had another favorite to add to the list.

Eau Duelle, from the spicy family of diptyque’s fragrances, is duality – two becoming one. A mix of white vanilla and black frankincense, East and West ingredients. At first you instantly experience spicy notes of cardamom, saffron and elemi which then continues to vetiver, firnat vanilla, etc (see below for the rest of the notes)

This tea-time event took us on a mini journey through the creation of the fragrance, letting you sample the raw materials and speak with the perfume creator, Fabrice Pelligrin (my french has deteriorated as the years have passed so we were very lucky to have a translator)

I love the fact that this vanilla-based eau de toilette isn’t the sugary vanilla scents that are typical of personal fragrances (I’ve had a particularly unfortunate incident with bees because of one of those fragrances). To say that diptyque’s Eau Duelle is the grown up version of those fragrances is not doing it justice. It is significantly more, a sophisticated fragrance – sweet enough for those who love sweet fragrances but not too sweet to deter anyone else. Eau Duelle is available now in two sizes – 1.7 oz retails for $88.00 and 3.4oz retails for $120
