Lia Sophia Spring/Summer 2012 Collection

During the hectic season of fashion week, I took a little time to get acquainted with the newest collections from celebrity-favorite jewelry company, Lia Sophia. Creative Director and Co-Owner Elena Kiam and Red Carpet Collection Designer Dani Stahl were on hand to introduce the new collection that is sure to grace the ears, necks and arms of many a celebrity.

We were introduced to the amazing Zingara Red Carpet Collection, a collection inspired by exotic destinations so naturally it’s full of colors and intricate details. I immediately noticed the Eastern influences throughout the collection. Below are a few of my favorites pieces. My fav necklaces, featured below in order of appearance (L – R):
Tobar – 40-43″ Necklace Clear Cut Crystals and Hand-Cut Glass in Antique Silver
Electra – 15″ necklace, Clear Cut Crystals and Hand-cut glass in Antique Silver (other colors available)
Natayla – 32″ Necklace, 12″ Extender, Clear Cut Crystals and Hand-Cut Glass in Antique Gold
Camlo Necklace – 30-33″ necklace, Clear Cut Crystals and Hand-Cut Glass in Antique Silver

Bracelets were full of ornate designs, color and unique details:
Sari Bracelets – Stretch Bracelet Clear Cut Crystals with Tangerine/Teal/Lime/Plum Resin and Enamel in Antique Silver or Matte Gold
Batik Stretch Bracelet – Clear Cut Crystals in Antique Silver (or Antique Gold)
Agape Cuff – Clear Cut Crystals and Tangerine Resin in Matte Gold
Vita Hinged Cuff – Clear Cut Crystals and Hand-Cut Glass in Antique Silver (or Antique Gold)

I fell in love with the following earrings at first sight, Risa Earrings – Clear Cut Crystals in Antique Gold and Silver. They (as well as the Natayla necklace) reminded me of the beautifully elaborate Indian jewelry

Lastly are the rings, one of which has already been spotted on Nicki Minaj (the Mirela):
Adara Ring – Clear Cut Crystals and Teal Resin in Matte Silver (available from sizes 6-8)
Mirela Ring – Clear Cut Crystals and Lime/Plum Resin (or Hand-Cut Glass) in Antique Gold or Antique Silver

Along with the several fellow media attendees at the Lia Sophia Lounge, several celebrities stopped by to preview and grab a piece or two from this amazing jewelry collection and take a photo in Lia Sophia’s photobooth

Expect to see lots of red carpet appearances from Lia Sophia jewelry.

lia sophia Introduces “Boudika” Red Carpet Collection

lia sophia has once again captivated my heart (and that of several celebrities) with their newest Red Carpet Collection – Boudika during New York Fashion Week. Like the stunning Industrielle Collection, Dani Stahl’s Boudika Red Carpet Collection featured very architectural and modern designs that communicate strength with touches such as resin pearls, diamond crystals, blue lapis, etc to add softness. Below are a few stand out pieces that I fell in love with:

Necklaces – I love the combination of the boldness of the pieces in matte silver and gold with the white resin pearls

Cuffs – I would kill for any of these cuffs, there is just no way to like just one or two or three for that matter. Each cuff makes its own dynamic impact

Rings – I’m completely in love with the Horn Ring (shown below in Black Onyx/Red Jasper Resin and in Blue Lapis/Carnelian Resin). Its such a statement jewelry piece and an attention getter (I so wish I had one). The Arrow ring with Black Diamond Crystals is also a must have.

I was lucky enough to get a photo of Dani Stahl rocking the Pearl Cage Cuff with White resin pearls

As previously stated, several celebrities went gaga over lia sophia, infact while I was previewing the collection, Aisha Tyler stopped by to indulge in the wonderful pieces

But she wasn’t the only one (in order of appearance) – Solange Knowles (Rough Necklace with Moss Resin in Matte Gold), Whitney Port (Tier Cuff Bracelet with Smoky Crystals and White Enamel in Matte Gold), Leven Rambin (Horn Pendant Necklace with Black Diamond Crystals and Black Onyx and Red Jasper Resin in Matte Gold), Louise Roe (Horn Ring with Black Diamond Crystals and Blue Lapis and Carnelian Resin in Matte Gold) etc, made several appearance wearing one or two lia sophia pieces

Diesel and Dani Stahl Introduce The Powder of Diesel

Diesel is known for their amazing denim; with a vast amount of fans worshiping at the altar of these denim gods, they continue to provide their loyal subjects with great product. Thus they introduce the Powder of Diesel Collection for the super cool strong women. The Powder Collection features bold color, and great denim fits and washes and is inspired by our obsession with makeup, they have strong and edgy feel with a feminine touch. Diesel uses treatments such as hand sponging with natural colour pigments, hand applied spots of colour and manual spraying to bring powder, paint and other cosmetic effects to your jeans. They’re colourful, summery and often in lightweight fabrics. The Powder of Diesel captures the world of cosmetics – blushes, eye shadow, powder – with denim treatments enriched by colored pigments.” Diesel’s denim is soft yet tough, adaptable yet chic, and comes in all different shapes and forms.

NYLON’s Dani Stahl was on hand to give out style advice (while rocking a pair of Diesel Powder Zivy in Spearmint)

Present in this collection are Diesel’s Essentials washes: classic, easy-wearing denim treated with constantly reviewed and updated techniques. The Blue Eyecons: an exclusive and unique process of three lengthy washes and numerous treatments, undertaken by hand in Italy. Diesel’s feminine take on the drop-crotch, carrot and sarouel styles, are the ultimate in fashion without sacrificing any measure of glamour. Check out a few styles from the Diesel’s Powder Collection.

All about femininity, there are lots of skin-tight and figure-hugging shapes, made possible by stretch fabrics and the new “jegging” family. There’s a wide selection of classic, boyfriend and bootcut styles – as well as a fantastic flare that’s sure to tempt the fashionistas. False pockets, zipped pockets, enlarged coin pockets, extra rivets and eye-catching stitching: we believe devilishness is in the details.

Lia Sophia Industrielle Jewelry Collection

I love discovering new designers and of course during New York fashion Week, you  get to discover several new voices but this post isn’t about fashion, its about a gorgeous jewelry collection from Lia Sophia. Before attending the Lia Sophia Lounge during fashion week, I admit I was not at all familiar with the brand but that soon change when I laid my eyes on the first piece and instantly fell in love.

This preview lounge was to showcase the Indutrielle Collection, a design collaboration with Elena Kiam, Lia Sophia’s Creative Director and Co-founder, and Dani Stahl, the Style Director at Nylon magazine. the aptly named Industrielle Collection features mixed metals, a very modern architectural influence and bold details – I also got a sense of ancient Egyptian influence (do you agree?)

One of my favorite pieces (and the most popular with celeb guests and other editors) was the Global Tassel Necklace

This beauty features Black Diamond Crystals and Moss Green & Tortoise Resin in Matte Gold, a true statement piece.

Another favorite were the Cone Necklaces and Cuffs – your choice of  Black Diamond Crystals and Green Enamel in Matte Gold or Cornflower Blue Enamel in Matte Silver. The Silver necklace and cuff are called blue bells because of the Cornflower blue enamel on the inside of the cones.

Lia Sophia is dedicated to its customers, each piece has a lifetime replacement guarantee, so no worries about your damaged pieces. Click the below video to see more pieces from Lia Sophia’s Industrielle collection

Lia Sophia has a network of Independent Advisors who bring you a jewelry party (they call it a Show) where you and your friends can get together and try on the latest designs. To find out more about putting on a Jewelry Show, click on Hostess Perks.
