CLn Skin Care: Effective Dermatologist-Recommend Skincare

So many things can affect how your skin behaves: stress, the environment, diet, etc. Unfortunately, as we’re seeing yet another increase in Covid-19 cases, we have to continue taking precautions. That means suffering from Maskne, dry hands from frequent hand washing, stressed skin, and dull complexions. The pandemic has made it difficult to make in-person dermatology appointments, and while telemedicine appointments are available, trying to clearly show your skin issues via computer or phone screen is not the same as in-person. The solution? Using skin care products that are recommended by more than 6,000 doctors. CLn Skin Care is a range of effective products to help sufferers of reactive skin conditions like Eczema, Acne, and Folliculitis (Razor Bump or Burn).

The colder season brings lower temperatures and drier air, both of which affect your skin. Today, we’re highlighting three of the CLn Skin Care products – CLn Acne Cleanser, CLn BodyWash, and CLn HandWash. CLn Skin Care’s sodium hypochlorite cleansers help wash away skin triggering microbes, bacteria, and allergens without impairing the skin barrier to allow the skin to heal itself.

Let’s face it (pardon the pun), with layers that may include primer, foundation and powder, finishing spray, and a mask with filters, your skin might have trouble getting enough fresh air to breathe. The CLn Acne Cleanser is designed to penetrate pores to stop new breakouts before they begin, yet avoids the drying effects of many topical treatments.  Advanced cleansing is the first step to a healthy complexion. The CLn Acne Cleanser clears breakouts by eliminating clogged pores, killing acne-causing bacteria, and soothing skin. Thanks to this cleanser, we’ve stopped our breakouts dead in their tracks, even hormonal acne (a huge issue for us). We also noticed this acne cleanser doesn’t dry out our skin. We don’t have to follow this acne face wash with a heavy moisturizer as we did with others. Finally, an acne wash that doesn’t have side effects.

CLn BodyWash is a physician designed gentle formula for hands and body prone to infection, eczema, rash, redness, irritation, and folliculitis.  With continued use, CLn leaves skin looking smooth, clear, healthy, and refreshed. As we mentioned above, hormonal acne is a big issue for us. Add in regular stress acne and the skin on our body gets angry. We used this body wash on backne on our upper left side and our regular cleanser on the right; almost immediately we started seeing results from the CLn BodyWash. Within 3 days, that side was clear; this is a definite must for body acne sufferers.

The CLn HandWash is formulated with sodium hypochlorite and glycerin, making it tough on germs, yet gentle on skin – especially for frequent hand washing.  Designed by dermatologists, this non-prescription cleanser is tough on microbes but easy on the skin. It can be used for frequent hand washing that can cause sensitive skin to over dry and crack.

“One of the reasons I was drawn to CLn was its amazing efficacy for my patients suffering from eczema and acne,” said Dr. Sklar. “The far-reaching abilities of this patented sodium hypochlorite cleansers are astounding. I am very proud to be involved in the cultivation and success of CLn because I strongly believe in its ability to revolutionize skincare for everyone.” Jerald Sklar, MD, CLn Skin Care Board of Directors

Over the years, the team at CLn Skin Care has had several tests conducted for kill rates of their products; the results are below:

  • 99.9% kill rate of P. Ances at 30 and 60 seconds
  • 98% kill rate of S. Aureus at 2 minutes
  • 99.9% kill rate of S. Aureus at 3 and 5 minutes
  • 99.9% kill rate of Coronavirus at 15 and 30 seconds

Topicals Skincare Seeks to Transform the You Feel About Skin

Topicals Skincare Seeks to Transform the You Feel About Skin

For as long as beauty trends have existed, if you don’t have flawless skin, you were deemed as ugly. Social Media filters are popular for a reason. But what if a skincare brand made you rethink the way you feel about skin? Topicals Skincare, a revolutionary new skincare company seeks to transform the way you feel about your skin. They are making the treatment of stigmatized skin conditions synonymous with the luxury and fun of self-care. These new skincare launches boast targeted solutions for eczema and hyperpigmentation.

Did you know one in four Americans lives with chronic skin conditions? Add in costly prescriptions and targeted skincare products and you’re left with skin issue sufferers who just “learn to live with it.” 23-year-olds Olamide Olowe and Claudia Teng, Topicals Skincare founders, are women of color who’s lived with conditions like severe eczema and post-barbae folliculitis. They grew up settling for products that didn’t really serve them or represent how the condition appeared on their skin. For this reason, Topicals Skincare was born out of necessity.

Topicals Skincare launched with two products, Like Butter ($32.00), a hydrating mask for dry, distressed, and eczema-prone skin, and Faded ($36.00), a serum for discoloration and dark spots. For the past week, we’ve been using the Topicals Skincare Faded Brightening & Clearing Gel to get rid of the discolorations and dark spots on our cheeks.

We are currently in the midst of our skin purging all the bad stuff out. We’re well on our way to healing our scarred skin. Darker skin tones can be plagued with stubborn marks, scars, and spots; and Faded is gentle enough for those experiencing hyperpigmentation and erythema. It goes on like a nightly moisturizer and is great for those whose skin can’t tolerate more aggressive acids; plus it has the bonus of not bleaching your non-hyperpigmented skin. Scent-wise, it does smell sulfuric, which takes some getting used to. But if you’re familiar with the amazing Sulphur Springs natural mud baths in St. Lucia that thousands flock to for its skin healing properties, you won’t mind the scent.

We haven’t tried it yet, but the Topicals Skincare Like Butter Hydrating Mask is great for dry, sensitive, and/or eczema-prone skin. This thick, whipped mask is packed with powerful botanicals for skin so smooth it’s like butter. Like Butter helps to strengthen your skin’s moisture barrier; it soothes irritation, inflammation, and smooths dry, textured skin. It’s creamy without feeling greasy or heavy and works great for flare-ups on other areas of the body as well.

Both products are fragrance-free, dye-free, vegan, and cruelty-free. Plus they do good too. Topicals donate 1% of their profits to important mental health movements, to help raise awareness around the connection between mental health and skin health.

Soothing Relief for Eczema from Eau Thermale Avene’s TriXéra+ Sélectiose

My friend Michelle suffers from moderate (her body) to severe Eczema (her hands) and she continuously has to use medication that contain steroids. I’ve seen her suffer through little itching fits, not being able to bend her fingers or hold onto something because of extreme dryness and of course there is the constant decoration of band-aids around her knuckles. So when Eau Thermale Avene introduced their Steroid-free line of TriXéra+ Sélectiose® Products for Eczema, I had to see if it’d help relieve a little of her discomfort.

The TriXéra+ Sélectiose® line of products include:

Emollient Cleansing Gel: $29.00 / 400 mL
Emollient Cleansing Bath: $24.00 / 200 mL
Emollient Cream: $29.00 / 200 mL $49.00 / 400 mL
Emollient Balm: $29.00 / 200 mL

TriXéra+ Sélectiose® has been clinically proven to take treatment to the next level to relieve itchiness, skin irritation and redness ─ while working to actually lengthen the time between flare-ups.
Sélectiose®, a patented emollient that includes pentyl rhamnoside, is proven to help control the skin’s primary inflammation response while significantly improving bioavailability.
Lipidic Trio (Essential fatty acids, Ceramides 3, Plant sterols) restores the skin’s hydrolipidic barrier
Glycine relieves itching (pruritus)
Avène Thermal Spring Water soothes irritation and redness

Here is Michelle’s experience in her own words:

I received three full size skincare products for testing (Emollient Cleansing Gel, Emollient Cleansing Bath and Emollient Cream). The products were daily skincare for extreme dry sensitive skin conditions, which in my case is Eczema. I used the products for almost 2 months and noticed immediate results. My skin was less irritated and I felt immediate moisture and relief, even on the first day.

Although I could not use the Emollient Cream on hands because of the severe eczema on my fingers that required me to only use my prescribed medication, my body loved every bit of moisture I received from the Emollient Cream. I strongly recommend using it for those who are severely sensitive to many creams.

The Emollient Cleansing Gel contains Glycine which soothed and relieved my itching. My skin did not feel tight and dry as it  usually did after showering.

I loved the Emollient Cleansing Bath and it was actually the product that finished first. This cleansing bath did not feel greasy on my body, it left my body rather soothed and moisturized and it did not make the tub greasy either like most bath products for extreme dry skin do.

I was very happy with all the products I tried and I’d say if anyone with Eczema needs to sooth, moisturize, and heal their extreme dry sensitive skin, they should try Eau Thermale Avene’s Soap-free, Fragrance and paraben-free, Hypoallergenic and Non-comedogenic TriXéra+ Sélectiose® products, you and your body will love it.
