Avon Launches Advance Techniques Professional Hair Color Collection

I’ve stated how many times that I love and not afraid of color – that goes for all color, not just in clothing, shoes, and accessories but in hair as well. I may not keep my hair short (I don’t think I have the right face shape for it) but I do love to color it. I’ve been honey blonde, chocolate brown, a ravishing redhead, a devilish blue-black and several colors in between – even now I’m sporting a color called chocolate cherry, so when I got the invitation to get familiar with Avon’s new Advance Techniques Hair Color Collection with the amazing Lorri Goddard, Celebrity Colorist and Avon’s new and first-ever Global Hair Color Expert. I was beyond ecstatic to attend and not ashamed to say, the first to arrive.

This is Avon’s first hair color launch in the US and they have partnered with Lorri to help empower women to achieve healthy, salon-beautiful hair at home. The Advance Techniques Hair Color Collection is a complete hair color system that equalizes porous damaged hair prior to coloring for even, true application and lasting results. The three-step system primes (a pre-treatment mends damaged, porous areas), colors and treats (with Shea Butter and Lock-In Technology) hair to deliver rich, radiant healthy looking color that provides 100% gray coverage. The collection includes 25 hair color shades (10 blondes, 4 reds, 9 brunette and 2 black shades)

We got some amazing tips from Lorri on how to select the correct shade (she advises that you go no more than 3 levels darker and 2 to 3 levels lighter than your natural/uncolored shade), properly color our hair at home (something that was always a battle for me with this thick hair of mine), and tips to help maintain our color – which includes getting your hands on a great product from Avon – Avon Advance Techniques Color Protection Lock-In Treatment, a product she uses on her celebrity clients

Hot Trend Alert – Red Hot Hair

Red hair seems to be the must have color of the season because this spicy hue has been popping up on several heads lately – both on celebrities and we mere mortals.

Actually, I’m currently a Radiant Red courtesy of John Frieda but you can be your own brilliant red with a temporary hair color that makes it easier for you to heat up your hair color. Get this season’s hottest new hair color with Streekers.

This unique hair color comes in a sleek portable bottle with a sponge-tip applicator to ensure neat, even application. With Streekers, eye-catching color no longer means hours spent in the salon chair and permanent results. Simply select your favorite Streekers hue and brush through strands for bold, show-stopping color that washes out when you’re ready. The formula looks just as vivid a permanent color, but shampoos out in a single wash. For best results apply Streekers to dry hair in small sections, from root to tip and wait to dry before brushing.

Streekers retails for $10.95, is available in Red, Pink, Blue, Purple, Green, Yellow, Orange, and Ultra Violet and can be purchased at all ULTA stores or on www.streekers.com.

Dip Into The Hottest New Hair Trend With Touchback

The hottest new hair trend sported on celebs such as Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj is Dipped-dyed Hair. Though these two have opted for color accents in florescent hues.

Thanks to TouchBack Hair Marker, the dip-dyed look is also perfect for everyday when worn in natural shades as seen on Drew Barrymore below

The TouchBack Hair Marker, wearable dip-dyed style is easy to recreate without the risk. Simply select a TouchBack marker two shades darker than your current hair hue and saturate the ends with color.

The pocket-sized marker makes for easy application when you want it, where you want it. Unlike mascara, crayons, gels, and powders, TouchBack won’t flake or rub off with brushing. TouchBack bonds to the hair and stays true until shampooed out.

TouchBack is available in eight natural shades: Rich Black, Dark Brown, Medium Brown, Light Brown, Ash Blonde, Golden Blonde, Light Auburn, Dark Auburn and retails for $29.95

TO — USE: Apply the TouchBack marker to dry hair. To remove color, simply shampoo.

WHERE TO FIND IT: www.TouchBackGray.com and all Ulta stores. To find out more info on Touchback, checkout TouchBack on Facebook and TouchBack on Twitter.
