Macy’s Scent Stories and 42nd Annual Macy’s Flower Show

The 42nd Annual Macy’s Flower Show was the spectacular backdrop to showcase the vast array of available men’s and women’s fragrances, and the spring season’s signature scents. The scent event, held on National Fragrance Day, was the perfect way to get to know the various Macy’s Scent Stories. The scent event guides customers to find their perfect scent, through Macy’s selection of fragrances. From March 23rd and runs until April 2nd, customers can discover the right fragrance for them. The fragrances are categorized in six Scent Stories – Romantic & Feminine, Sexy & Glamorous, Confident & Sophisticated, Fresh & Flirty, Fresh & Understated, and Powerful & Masculine.

To help celebrate the scent event, five perfumers from the famed houses were on hand to share their expertise on their craft and fragrances. They included (from left to right), Frank Voelkl of Firmenich, Pascal Gauvin of IFF, Harry Fremont of Firmenich, Rodrigo Flores-Roux of Givaudan, and Ralf Schwieger of MANE (pictured below with Elizabeth Musmanno, President of the Fragrance Foundation and event Host Linda Levy, Macy’s VP and DMM Fragrances).

At the early morning event, guests were ushered through the Macy’s Scent Stories stations where the Perfumers highlighted their fragrance of the season

Harry Fremont of Firmenich, at the Romantic & Feminine station, highlighted Ralph Lauren Tender Romance,  a delicate floral fragrance that “celebrates the sweet and gentle moments of falling in love for the first time.”

Frank Voelkl of Firmenich, at the at the Sexy & Glamorous station, highlighted Gucci Bamboo, an intense fragrance that celebrates the duality of women,  strong and graceful, soft and intense.

Ralf Schwieger of MANE, at the Confident & Sophisticated station, highlighted Giorgio Armani Si (our favorite scent), a sensuous fragrance that celebrates the modern woman who embodies modern femininity, grace, strength and an independent spirit.

Pascal Gauvin of IFF, at the Fresh & Flirty station, highlighted Calvin Klein CK2 (only available at Macy’s),  a dual-faceted scent that balances spicy electric freshness and the warmth of magnetic woods. We find ourselves loving this sequel more than it’s predecessor, from its wonderful magnetic juice, to its inspiring bottle (which stands upside down by the way).

Last but certainly not at all least, was Rodrigo Flores-Roux of Givaudan at the Powerful & Masculine station, who highlighted the John Varvatos and John Varvatos Dark Rebel fragrances, to distinct scents to celebrate today’s strong, modern man. One is sophisticated yet relaxed, while the other is cool, sensual and sophisticated fragrance.

After the scent event, we were invited to tour the stunning floral arrangements that made up the 42nd Annual Macy’s Flower Show, whose theme was “America the Beautiful” inspired by the stunning regions that make up this great country.

You may recognize iconic structures like the San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge and the Statue of Liberty’s torch, among others at the show. we had a wonderful time discovering our new signature scent and taking in the floral beauty that is the X 42nd Annual Macy’s Flower Show. Macy’s Presents the 39th Annual Flower Show: The Painted Garden

Spring means it’s the time of flowers ans what better way to enjoy all the new, fresh blooms spring has to offer than to visit the Macy’s Flower Show. From Sunday, March 24th through Sunday, April 7th, Macy’s presents a spectacular display of floral beauty. The Macy’s 39th Annual Flower Show named The Painted Garden, features ornate designs and a chromatic array of beautiful flowers.

Inspired by the stunning Asian landscape, vibrant customs and ornate designs, The Painted Garden features “exotic architectural settings and vivid gardens and brims with flowers, plants and trees drenched in brilliant jewel tones and spice market colors one would see in India and throughout Middle Asia” – Robin Hall

What special attractions can you expect at the Macy’s 39th Annual Flower Show? The stunning and spectacular 10-foot tall painted and floral-draped elephant (pictured above), the centerpiece of the show, looked just like elephants during the baraat in a traditional Indian wedding. Also on display will be the legendary floral Macy’s windows. The beauty and magic of The Painted Garden will transform the Macy’s Broadway windows into a magical dream with each window featuring its own color scheme.

The show will also feature a Bouquet of the Day from designers Jorge Cazzorla, Olivier Giugni, Yena Jung, Ed Libby, Jane Packer and Kenji Takenaka. Other stunning must-see (besides the flowers) include the Indian God, Ganesh (pictured above), the fountain filled with flowers (also pictured above), and the Souk market

The Flower Show is open to the public and free to attend. It is open during regular Macy’s business hours and guests will have the chance to enjoy and participate in a variety of floral-themed events and cooking demos taking place in the store.

Rafael Nadal – It’s in the (Armani) Jeans

A huge gaggle of fans (both male and female) crowded into Macy’s main floor to see Armani Jeans unveil the new 20-foot tall ad campaign featuring two-time Wimbledon champion, six time Roland Garros champion and defending US Open champion, Rafael Nadal.

After a brief photo op in front of the hot ad, the sizzling Tennis star then proceeded to the 2nd Floor in Men’s for a meet and greet with fans young and old who purchased a pair of jeans from the 2011 Armani Jeans Collection to have the exclusive opportunity to have their photo taken with the hot Tennis star.

The very sexy ad was shot in Mallorca by fashion photographer Steven Klein and will launch this month.

Rafael Nadal’s Unveils Armani Jeans Campaign at Macy’s Herald Square

Tennis hottie and superstar Rafael Nadal reveals his worldwide exclusive Armani jeans campaign at Macy’s Herald Square on Thursday, August 25th, 2011. Fans and admirers are invited to join in the excitement and experience the great reveal on the main floor.

The first 200 fans to purchase a pair of jeans from the 2011 Armani Jeans Collection will have the exclusive opportunity to have their photo taken with Rafael during a VIP meet-and-greet. Additionally, the first 100 customers who purchase over $150 of Armani Jeans product will receive an Emporio Armani underwear brief signed by Nadal. Judging by his old Armani jeans ad, the new campaign should be climactic.
