Toast to “The Bachelor” 20th Season w/ the Sauza Tequila Jalisco Rose

Tonight marks the beginning of the 20th season of eligible bachelors trying to find love via ABC’s very popular reality dating show, The Bachelor. By now, we’re sure you’ve fallen in love with The Bachelor’s Ben Higgins, the dreamy software salesman, fan-favorite, and youngest Bachelor the show seen in a while. While the hunky Ben is sure to give out special roses to several lucky bachelorettes, Sauza Tequila would like to offer all of you a very special rose, The Sauza Tequila Jalisco Rose, the perfect cocktail to raise a glass to the latest dreamboat during your viewing party, or sip while you’re playing your Bachelor drinking game.

The Jalisco Rose

2 parts Sauza® Signature Blue Silver Tequila
23 strawberries, halved
1 part pomegranate juice
1 part agave syrup
1 part lime juice
Add ingredients to an ice-filled shaker. Shake and strain over ice into a margarita glass.

The Sauza Tequila Jalisco Rose’s name was inspired by the Sauza distillery located in Jalisco, Mexico, the birthplace of such great Mexican traditions as Mariachi, Ranchera music, Birria, Jaripeo, and of course, Tequila. Each bottle of Sauza Tequila, the go-to tequila for the perfect margarita, is carefully crafted with the finest, fresh blue agave from the storied La Perseverancia distillery in Jalisco.

For the next several weeks, the ladies will come and go (we all remember that season with the uninvited bachelorette returnee), but Ben will remain to capture our hearts, and while we know we’ll never get a special rose or hear those wonderful words asking us to “accept this rose” from Ben, we can (and damn sure will), accept and fully enjoy the delicious Jalisco Rose from Sauza Tequila.

New Year’s Cocktails to Celebrate 2016

We, along with everyone else, cannot wait to raise a glass to the new year and today we’re sharing a short list of New Year’s cocktails to celebrate 2016 (we will be sharing a few more cocktails as the time gets nearer). We’re looking forward to welcoming the new and wonderful opportunities, adventures, and experiences 2016 has to offer. We’re starting the new opportunity to start over by breaking the rules a bit. Instead of toasting with a straight glass of traditional champagne, we’ll be ringing in 2016 with a non-traditional cocktail from Sauza Tequila, Midori Melon Liqueur, Brotherhood Riesling, and Blanc de Blancs.

Who says you’re only allowed to toast to the new year with a flute of champagne? As humans, we love to show our individuality and let’s face it, some traditions are now outdated and can be changed. So if you’re ready to ring in the new year with a delicious drink, here are some of our favorite New Year’s cocktails to celebrate 2016:

Tequila Sparkler

Sauza's Tequila Sparkler

1 part Sauza® Signature Blue Silver Tequila
½ part lime juice
½ part simple syrup
4 parts champagne (chilled)
Add tequila, lime juice and simple syrup to an ice-filled shaker. Shake and strain into glass. Top with Champagne.


Midori® Mebuki (Created by Chef Morimoto)

Midori® Mebuki

1 part Midori® Melon Liqueur
1 part Junmai Style Sake
1/2 part Fresh Lemon Juice
Splash Simple Syrup
Combine ingredients in a mixing glass with ice and shake. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a lemon peel.

Midori® Sparkle

Midori® Sparkle2

1/2 part Midori® Melon Liqueur
Dry Champagne or Sparkling Wine
Pour Midori® into a champagne glass. Top with dry Champagne or sparkling wine.

The Sage (cocktail image not available)


4 oz. Brotherhood Riesling
8 small fresh sage leaves
½ ounce simple syrup
½ slice of lemon
Rip up sage and muddle with syrup and lemon. Shake Riesling with ice and strain into martini glass. Garnish with an edible flower.

Bellini (cocktail image not available)


2/3 cup white peach puree
1 teaspoon raspberry puree
1 bottle chilled Blanc de Blancs
Place 1 ½ tablespoons peach puree in the bottom of a flute glass and add 2-3 drops of the raspberry puree. Add sparkling wine and serve.

Midori® Holly Jolly

1 1/2 parts Midori® Melon Liqueur
1/2 part DeKuyper® Creme de Cocoa White Liqueur
1 part Fresh Lemon Juice
Combine all ingredients in a shaker over ice. Shake and pour into a coupe glass or martini glass.

Midori® Elf’s Kiss

1/2 parts Midori® Melon Liqueur
1 part Pinnacle® Citrus Vodka
JDK & Sons 03 Premium Orange Liqueur
1 1/2 parts Sweet & Sour
Two 1/2 inch squares of Fresh Ginger
Juice of 1/2 a lemon
Cranberry Juice
Orange Slice
Fill a tall glass with ice and add Midori®. In a shaker, muddle fresh ginger and the juice of half a lemon. Add sweet & sour and vodka and shake with ice. Strain and pour into the glass over Midori®. Top with cranberry juice and a floater of orange liqueur. Garnish with a twisted orange slice.

Mistletoe Margarita (serves 8)

Mistletoe Margarita
1 ½ cups Sauza® Signature Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila
½ cup DeKuyper® Triple Sec
1 ½ cups cranberry cocktail juice
½ cup fresh lime juice
½ cup simple syrup
1 cup fresh cranberries for garnish (optional)
Sugar for rimming (optional)
Lime wheels for garnish (optional)
8 cinnamon sticks for garnish (optional)
Combine the first five ingredients in a pitcher and stir. Place lime slices and cranberries in the pitcher for added flavor. Rim glasses with sugar before serving. Skewer fresh cranberries with a toothpick and roll in remaining sugar. Pour into glasses over ice, top with cranberry skewer and finish with a cinnamon stick.

Very Merry Crush (serves 8)

Very Merry Crush
2 cups Sauza® Signature Blue Reposado 100% Agave Tequila
4 ginger beers
½ cup lime juice
1/3 cup cherry preserves
11 rosemary sprigs
Strip leaves from three rosemary springs and place in a pitcher with lime juice and cherry preserves. Muddle these ingredients together. Add tequila and ginger beer and stir well. Pour into tall glasses over ice and garnish with a rosemary sprig.

Candy Cane Cocktail

1 part Skinnygirl® Bare Naked Vodka
1 part DeKuyper® Peppermint Schnapps
1 part fat-free sweetened condensed milk
Candy cane for garnish
Shake liquids with ice in a cocktail shaker. Pour over ice. Garnish with a candy cane

Very Merry Mulled Wine

Very Merry Mulled Wine

1 bottle of Skinnygirl® Pinot Noir
3 cinnamon sticks, broken in half
¼ part whole cloves
3-star anise
1 whole nutmeg, cracked with the side of a chef’s knife into a few pieces
1 orange peel
Agave nectar to taste
Lemon slice for garnish
Star anise for garnish
Cinnamon sticks for garnish
Pour wine into a large saucepan and cook over low heat. Make a sachet with the spices by tying them together in cheesecloth and put the sachet into the saucepan. Let simmer for 30 minutes. Add agave nectar to taste, then pour the wine through a strainer and serve in a heatproof glass. Garnish with a lemon slice, star anise, and cinnamon sticks.

Celebrating #NationalTequilaDay w/ Sauza Tequila & Bungalow 23 Cocktail Mixers

Well, we have officially survived #NationalTequilaDay. Our day was filled with a pitcher full of delicious Prickly Pear Margarita made with Sauza Silver Tequila and Bungalow 23 Prickly Pear Margarita cocktail mixer. Our goal was to share this highlight on the day of celebration, but after a fun-filled afternoon of what seemed like unlimited margaritas, putting together sentences was not going to happen. We were tasked with creating perfect pitcher pics by Sauza and boy was this a fun task. To create our #SauzaPitcherPics, we received Sauza Tequilas, a beautiful pitcher and matching margarita glasses and a Glass Rimmer. Thanks to our attendance of the Fancy food Show, we were introduced to a premium, culinary cocktail mixer brand, Bungalow 23, whose prickly pear cocktail mixer had everything we needed for the perfect margarita, and The Spice Lab’s world of salt varieties, whose Ghost Pepper Sea Salt was the perfect heat needed against the sweetness of the prickly pear. Pairing with Sauza’s signature blend Silver Tequila and we were in for some delicious trouble. This was obviously predestined to happen.

Because it’s been so hot and humid lately, we decided a frozen margarita would be the perfect way to celebrate National Margarita Day. Thanks to our Nutri Ninja Blender System With Auto-IQ, we just poured our ice (no need to break it up), Bungalow 23 Prickly Pear Cocktail Mixer and Sauza Silver Tequila and seconds later, we had a pitcher full of this nontraditional flavored, classic cocktail. Boasting limes, oranges, blue agave nectar, a hint of cilantro, and the finest prickly pears, we couldn’t can’t help but love this crisp,  refreshing, and complex cocktail mixer from Bungalow 23. Sadly we ran out of The Spice Lab’s Ghost Pepper Sea Salt doing our “test run” so when we were ready for the next batch, our margarita rims were salt-less but that didn’t stop us from enjoying it anyway.

Toasting the Troops this Memorial Day w/ Cocktails from Sauza® Tequila

Memorial Day is a mere two weeks away, and while many look at this weekend as the start of the summer season, it is also the time we honor those who have given their lives in military service for the United States. It is because of these men and women that our Memorial Day Weekends are filled with fun celebrations, family BBQs and summer getaways. While we can’t personally thank those who’ve given their lives for this country, we can toast to their memory with a few delicious cocktails from Sauza Tequila. Today we present the very flavorful Summer Salute cocktail, made with Sauza’s Silver Tequila, and the Summertime Sunrise cocktail, made with Sauza’s Blue Reposado Tequila.

Summer Salute

Summer Salute

1 ½ parts of Sauza® Silver Tequila
4 parts cranberry juice
2 parts lemon soda
2 mint leaves for garnish
Lime wedge for garnish
Combine all ingredients except mint leaves in a tall glass. Serve glass with 2 mint leaves. Serve cold or iced. If you want to rim the glass with sugar before pouring the margarita, simply run a lime wedge around the edge of the glass and then dip the rim of the glass in a plate of sugar. Add mint leaves and lime wedge for garnish.

Summertime Sunrise

2 parts Sauza® Blue Reposado Tequila
2 parts Orange Juice
2 dashes grenadine
Orange wedge for garnish
In a glass filled with ice stir together orange juice and tequila. Pour the dash of grenadine down the side so that it settles to the bottom of the glass. Add an orange wedge for garnish.

Celebrating Cinco de Mayo? Start with these Cocktails

Nothing brings on good spring cheer than celebrating Cinco de Mayo. For us, celebrating the Mexican army’s victory over Napoleon III on May 5th, 1862, reminds us of celebrating freedom, success, and indicates that the time of warm weather enjoyment has arrived. Naturally when we think of Cinco de Mayo and drinks that remind us of Mexico, we think Tequila! In honor of this famed Mexican holiday, we look to, Sauza Tequilael Jimador, and Herradura Tequilas for our Cinco de Mayo cocktail recipes. Whether you’re out at a bar, or partying it up at home, these delicious will have you cheering Arriba over and over.

Sauza Tequila

Sombrero Sipper
1 part Sauza® Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila
½ part DeKuyper® Strawberry Liqueur
½ part (chilled) rose champagne
½ part limeade
3 strawberries
1 tbsp. sugar
1 lime wedge
Wash, stem, quarter and freeze strawberries for at least 1 hour (can be done the day ahead). Run a wedge of lime around the rim of your champagne flute and dip in a plate of sugar to coat rim. Place 3 frozen strawberries in the bottom of the prepared flute. Pour champagne into the glass. In a shaker filled with ice, combine tequila, limeade, and strawberry liqueur. Shake and pour into glass. Add a squeeze of fresh lime if desired and serve immediately.

Mexican Victor-ita
1 ½ parts Sauza® Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila
½ part DeKuyper® Triple Sec
4 parts cranberry juice
2 parts orange juice
2 oranges
½ cup cranberries, frozen (optional)
2 tbsp. sugar
First make your garnishes. Freeze ½ cup of cranberries. Using a channel knife cut a long spiral from on orange (see if you can make it all the way in one try!) and cut into 6 inch pieces. Twist the peels around your bar spoon and reserve for garnish. Zest the other orange with a spice grater to remove just the peel and none of the pith and combine with sugar. Cut the zested orange into wedges. Rub a wedge of orange around half the rim of your glasses. Roll the glasses through the sugared orange zest. In a shaker, combine the rest of the sugar and orange zest mixture with the cranberry juice, orange juice, Sauza® Blue Silver, orange liqueur, and the juice from the orange. Twist the orange peel over the drink and place on the prepared glass. Top with frozen cranberries and serve your cocktail!

el Jimador and Herradura Tequilas

Jimi Punch
1 Bottle Herradura Silver
1 bottle Korbel Champagne
6 oz Campari
6 oz Agave Syrup
1 liter Orange juice
¼ liter lemon juice
1 orange cut into slices
1 tray of Raspberries
Add all ingredient to a large punch bowl, add lots of ice stir, cover and leave to sit 20 mins before serving. Stir occasionally during service

Herradura Vesuvio
2oz Herradura Silver
¾oz Red pepper juice
½oz Lime Juice
¼ oz Cholula hot sauce
¼ oz Agave nectar
Rim a coupe glass with cayenne pepper and salt mix Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker, shake hard and pour into the chilled coupe glass.

Spicy Raspberry Margarita
1 ½ oz. el Jimador Reposado
½ oz. Chambord
1 oz. Sprite
2 oz. Sour mix
3 dashes of Tabasco
In a shaker filled with ice, add ingredients and shake to mix. Pour into margarita glass rimmed with spicy salt. Garnish with a lime wedge.

Tamarind Paloma
1.5 oz of el Jimador blanco
1.5 oz Bohemia
5 oz of fresh lemon juice
5 oz of tamarind syrup
2 Dashes of orange bitters
Shake all ingredients except the Bohemia beer with ice and pour over ice. Fill rest of glass with Bohemia beer. Serve in a Collins glass.

The Horseshoe Margarita
2 parts Tequila Herradura Silver
1 parts Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
1/2-3/4 part Agave Nectar (to taste)
Combine all the ingredients in a shaker with ice, shake hard so that some of the ice melts, then strain over fresh ice. Garnish with a lime wedge.

It may not be easy being green, but it sure is easy to drink green, especially when they come in the form of delicious St. Patrick’s Day cocktails. We begin with green-colored cocktails of course and shockingly, they’re not made from whiskey. That’s right, we’re showing you how Tequila, Vodka, and Prosecso can enchant you on this traditional Irish holiday. Today we offer incredible options that range in color from brilliant green, to pale moss green, from some of our favorite spirits: Sauza Tequila, Hornitos Tequila, and Skinnygirl Cocktails. We’ve got you covered, whether you’re counting calories, or counting kisses, but we’re not skimping on extraordinary taste. Break out your shamrocks and dive into one of these emerald brews.

Lucky Rita

1 part Sauza® Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila
½ part DeKuyper® Melon Liqueur
2 parts limeade
Lemon slice ( for garnish)
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice combine all ingredients and shake to chill. Strain into a cocktail glass filled with ice and rimmed with sugar. Garnish with a lemon slice. Enjoy!

The Mexichaun

2 parts Hornitos® Plata Tequila
⅔ parts green chartreuse
1 part fresh lime juice
Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass. Strain over ice.

Hornitos® Green Mexican

1 Part Hornitos® Plata Tequila
1 Part Midori®
4 parts sweet and sour mix
Fill a Collins glass with ice. Add Hornitos® Plata Tequila and Midori®, fill rest of glass with sour mix, and garnish with an orange slice.

Mint Margarita

1 part Sauza® Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila
2 ½ parts club soda
1 part fresh lime juice
1 bunch of fresh mint
1 part sugar
Salt to rim (optional)
Extra mint leaves (for garnish)
Lime wedge (for garnish)
In a glass, muddle together the mint leaves, sugar and lime juice until they start to melt together. Add tequila. Fill glass with ice and pour cocktail mixture 3/4 of the way to the top of each glass. If you want, rim your glass with salt by rubbing the rim with a lime wedge and dipping in a plate of salt. Fill glass with club soda and garnish with an extra sprig of mint and lime wedge.

Lucky March Mojito

1 part Skinnygirl® Prosecco
1 part light rum
1 tsp. agave nectar
3 parts lime juice
Splash of lime flavored sparkling water
3 sprigs of mint
Shake rum, lime juice and agave nectar in cocktail shaker with ice. Top with Skinnygirl Prosecco and sparkling water, and pour into tall Collins glass. Muddle in mint leaves and enjoy!

Sour Apple Margarita

1 part Sauza® Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila
½ part DeKuyper® Sour Apple Pucker
2 parts frozen limeade
2 parts apple juice
1 Granny Smith Apple (for garnish)
Combine all ingredients in a shaker filled with ice. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve chilled or over ice. Garnish with apple slice.

Shamrock Sipper

1 ½ parts Skinnygirl® Cucumber Vodka
6 parts green tea (water steeped with tea bags OR diet green tea)
Cucumber wheel for garnish
Pour ingredients over ice. Garnish with a cucumber wheel.
