Art of Patron Bottle Art Contest

From now (the contest started on July 11th) until October 14th, 2016, Patron invites you to use your artistic creativity to create a unique piece of art using one or more of their tequila bottles as inspiration. What you create for the Art of Patrón Bottle Art Contest is up to you, whether it’s a sculpture, a painting, decoupage or something they’ve never seen, the artistic statement is all up to you. Past “Art of Patrón” Bottle Art contest entries have included a chess set, spectacular artworks and wall hangings, striking light fixtures, gorgeous jewelry, functional furniture, and other awe-inspiring designs. Last year’s contest winner of the Art of Patrón Bottle Art Contest was Rebecca Stoneback of Asbury Park, N.J., with her entry titled, “La Abeja,” a stunning necklace representing the 60 hands it takes to produce one bottle of Patrón tequila. She created the piece by melting and sculpting glass from a Patrón Silver tequila bottle into 60 abstract beads, molded metal bee wings – representing the Patrón bee logo – around a small glass vial at the center of the jewelry, which she filled with – what else? – Patrón tequila.


As you can see, the possibilities for design entry ideas are endless. To enter the 2016 “Art of Patrón” Bottle Art Contest:

  1. Create an original work of art or functional item that contains, is made from, or depicts any Patrón bottle or component thereof

  3. Upload a photo and a short essay (100 words or less) describing the artwork and the inspiration behind the piece

You must be 21 and older to enter. A panel of judges will help select up to 10 finalists based on overall creativity, unique use or representation of the Patrón bottle and components, visual appeal and the persuasiveness of the essay. Finalists will be featured on the Art of Patrón website for public voting, and then one lucky participant will be selected as the Grand Prize winner. The winner will be awarded $10,000 and an opportunity for national exposure for his or her work of art, while the remaining nine finalists will each receive $1,000. Ready to show your artistic side? NIVEA Lip Care Announces “Style, Uncapped” Campaign w/ Rebecca Minkoff

Last year NIVEA Lip Care announced their wonderfully creative Style, Uncapped campaign, a customized lip care design campaign that celebrates the personal style of consumers, with designer Charlotte Ronson – NIVEA Lip Care Design Your Own Cap Contest. The campaign gives you, the consumer, a chance to design and purchase your own lip care cap creation and make every kiss memorable. This time they team up with fabulous designer, Rebecca Minkoff

I, along with a few other lucky media outlets, were invited to be one of the first to experience and design our own NIVEA Cap. Thanks to Nivea and the Style, Uncapped campaign, you will be able to choose from over 400 patterns and symbols, including Rebecca Minkoff’s design, and an variety of colors when creating their caps as well as more than 200 new symbols, 200 new patterns and 12 new design themes.

Nivea has come up with some wonderful ways to celebrate kisses, they understand that that each kiss is unique, must like each possible cap design. In support of this fun and expressive campaign, Rebecca Minkoff created a Limited Edition design (one of which, Rebecca Minkoff-Blue, is pictured above) inspired by her spring 2013 collection, which is also available for purchase on the Style, Uncapped website.

NIVEA Lip Care Design Your Own Cap Contest

To be in the presence of great creative minds is a wonderful thing, especially when it comes to fashion. I had the unique pleasure of attending an event to preview Nivea Lip Care’s Design Your Own Cap Contest called “Kiss of Style Cap Contest” with fashion designer, Charlotte Ronson.

Starting August 1st and ending on August 22nd, you can log on to to create your own Nivea Lip Care Cap.

Choose from hundreds of designs in the following design categories – Basics, Glamour, Graffiti, Romantic, Nature and Rock N’ Roll – all of which you can change the size, color and direction of. Why not show your creative side and go wild – no design is too outrageous.

On September 5th, Nivea’s panel of judges, along with Charlotte Ronson, will select and announce the top 10 finalists and you can start voting for your favorite designs. On September 20th, the lucky winner of the “Kiss of Style Cap Contest”, whose design will be available for sale in 2013, will be revealed.

Adrianna Papell For E! Live From The Red Carpet Design Contest Winner Unveiled

In September, the Adrianna Papell For E! Live From The Red Carpet launched a nationwide search for designers to submit red carpet looks for their Spring 2012 collection. After a rigorous nomination process through hundreds of submissions, they have finally announced a winner – Natalie Palter, a freshman fashion design student at Marist College in New York, was chosen the winner out of 700 designs for her Grecian goddesses-inspired gown.

Natalie noted “I have been designing ever since I could hold a crayon. I wanted to design a dress that would not only flatter any woman’s body, but also make her feel like red carpet royalty.” The gorgeous blue gown delicately drapes the female form, while crystal baguettes accent the décolletage and natural waist.

Jaynee Berkman, President of Adrianna Papell states, “We look forward to incorporating the winning design into the Adrianna Papell For E! Live From The Red Carpet collection. It complements our current style offerings and will be available at Lord & Taylor and other fine retailers beginning in June.”

The First Runner-Up, Genovena Christoff will receive a $1,000.00 cash prize, and the Second Runner-Up, Jamie McClure will receive a $500.00 cash prize.

BlueGPS Designer Fashion Challenge

What is BlueGPS and how does it relate to fashion? First, BlueGPS is a small and lightweight (measures 1″ X 1.5″ and weighs less than 1.5 oz) personal locator device that is designed to interact with social networking, fashion and personal safety. It was designed/created by Isaac Daniel Products and uses military-inspired proprietary technology (patented and patents pending).

The BlueGPS works through a phone application and provides a non-invasive, real time locating ability at the push of a button. The phone app wearers can publish messages about their location via the two buttons located on the device that are programmed to send the user’s precise location.

Now on to the fashion aspect…..Isaac Daniel Products is looking for seasoned fashion designers to create a fashion look or accessory demonstrating their vision of the BlueGPS by blending its technology with fashion. The designs will be on view and modeled at The New York Times Center on June 22 from 5 – 7 PM. All entries will then be auctioned off on to benefit What Better Looks Like, a charity started by seven women who journeyed to Rwanda and the Congo in November, 2010 to help victims of the 1994 genocide in Rwanda, give support to women, men and orphans living with AIDS, sponsor orphaned young adults in Kigali, Rwanda with four year college scholarships, provide school uniforms and fees so children can attend primary/secondary school and provide the elderly and the disabled of the Nyarugunga Village in Rwanda with basic supplies, skills and a small start-up business fund.
