Giving Tuesday 2020: Celebrating Brands With Heart This Giving Tuesday

Generous Coffee provides single-origin, traceable, craft-roasted coffee that exists to change lives in eight flavor offerings. Started by Former ABC Bachelor, Ben Higgins, and former President of Humanity and Hope United, Riley Fuller, Generous Coffee, which officially launched online in January of 2018, works closely with their roasting company to help farmers convert cocaine fields into coffee farms. This transition from coca to coffee creates a better life for the farmers and their families, who are then paid 80% more than the local price.

Generous Coffee believes if you’re going to buy coffee anyway, it might as well be quality, life-changing coffee. The for-profit biz sees themselves more as a FOR PURPOSE biz. They sell products, to make money so that they can turn right around and give that money straight back to nonprofits fighting injustice around the world. Today, Generous has two coffee shops, an apparel line, eight coffee selections, an online store, and an ambassador program of people fighting to end injustice together! What started out as a coffee company, has quickly become a community of people that have set out to change the world!

Instead, the artisan soaps from Soapcreek Company are made from sustainably-sourced essential oils, natural clays, minerals, butters, and herbs sourced both locally and worldwide. Finchberry Handcrafted Soaps

Finchberry Soaps – Uniquely Decadent Sensory Bath Experience

When you think of bath soaps, the last thing you think of is baked goods; but today we’re highlighting some deliciously aromatic and wonderfully stunning soaps that are actually baked. Feast your eyes on the beauty that is Finchberry Soaps. These decadent, handcrafted soaps feature natural, food-grade ingredients, a unique decadent appearance, and a lush gentle lather. The Finchberry soaps are not just a cleanser, they are gluten-free, vegan-friendly, made without any harsh chemical preservatives, and boast a sensory experience.

Finchberry Handcrafted Soaps

All of the Finchberry soaps are handcrafted in their Northern Florida studio. A studio which is filled with piping bags, baking racks, ovens, and dough mixers. No surprise as Finchberry was started by Owner/Founder Ashley Robertson in her kitchen in Washington DC. It looks as much like a bakery as their soaps look like baked goods. As you can imagine, they smell absolutely incredible, some of them almost edible.

Finchberry Handcrafted Soaps

We had the pleasure of experiencing the Soap by the Slice and wow. First of all, we didn’t start using it until a month after receiving the Best Seller’s Sampler Tin; not because we didn’t like it, but because we loved the smell of the soaps so much. We found ourselves repeatedly opening and closing the tin to indulge in the aromatic wonder of these beautiful soaps. Look at them, can you blame us, you can practically inhale the scents through the screen. These soaps will captivate you visually, aromatically, and touchably; your skin will absolutely love them.

Finchberry Handcrafted Soaps

The Finchberry Soaps are available in several yummy scents. Our tin contained Cranberry Chutney, Grapes of Bath (sweet summer berries and lightly-frosted autumn grapes), Renegade Honey (honey and almond bitter), Tart me Up (raspberry, lemon, and real Moroccan rose buds), Sweetly Southern (wild honeysuckle), Spark (notes of orange, apple, grapefruit, peach and strawberry with just a touch of loganberry), Sweet Dreams (lavender and vanilla), and Darling (cherry blossom, sensual white lily and blushing violet petals blended with a hint of warm vanilla).

Of course, these beautiful, handcrafted soaps are not the only thing Finberry Soaps has to offer. You can also indulge in Fizzy Salt Soaks, Shimmer Body Washes, Hand Cremes, Sugar Scrub Cubes, Solid Perfumes, Soap Dishes (they have the cutest ones – we fell in love with the Victorian Iron Soap Dish), and so much more.

We promise you won’t be disappointed with these amazing bath products. Get to know all the Finchberry products by visiting www.finchberry.com.

Biggs & Featherbelle plant-based body care products

Biggs & Featherbelle: All-Natural, Plant-Based Body Care

We are not morning people. In fact, we can step into the shower and still be asleep; which is why we welcome invigorating scents to wake us up. Of course when it comes to your skincare, the most important isn’t scent, it’s how great it is for your skin. Luckily with the all-natural, plant-based body care, Biggs & Featherbelle, we get the best of both worlds. Get ready to invigorate your skin and your senses with the range of handmade soaps, bath fizzies, body butter, bath soaks, and body scrubs.

Created by sisters, Kelly and Kasey, Biggs & Featherbelle are made only with pure essential oils and plant-based ingredients. The soaps are handmade the old-fashioned way using cold processing to preserve the natural beneficial properties of the ingredients. We had the wonderful pleasure of trying out a few Biggs & Featherbelle products including the Barbados Sweet Orange & Grapefruit Soap, Bar-garita Key Lime & Sea Salt Soap, Lemon Bar Lemongrass & Shea Butter Soap, Lime & Sea Salt Body Scrub, Soul Kiss Sweet Bergamot lip balm, and Lemon Coconut whipped shea butter.

As soon as we opened the package, our entire apartment was engulfed in the amazing combination of sweet citrus scents. It was like having a scented candle burning. Talk about amazing aromatherapy! Of course, we couldn’t wait to indulge in the products and started with the Barbados Sweet Orange & Grapefruit Soap. This amazing cleansing soap is great for oily skin; it features sweet orange to nourish and balance excess oil, pink grapefruit to tone skin, and olive oil to moisturize.

We’re waiting until we’re done with the Barbados soap to use the other soaps; from what our skin has experienced (no dryness or tightness and it feels supple even before applying a moisturizer), we know we won’t be disappointed.

The Lime & Sea Salt Body Scrub is even more incredible than it sounds. It’s not teeming with oil, so there are no worries about possibly slipping in the shower. Its scent is vividly potent and you’ll love how your skin feels afterward. The multitasking Soul Kiss Sweet Bergamot lip balm is a dream. Not only does it moisturize, but it’s also great for reducing inflammation, soothing chapped and cracked lips, and heals, cools and helps prevent cold sores. We’ve never heard of a non-medical grade lip balm doing that!

Finally, the absolutely heavenly Lemon Coconut whipped shea butter. Raw shea butter is whipped into an almost fluffy, lightweight body butter that regenerates the skin, hydrates dry and damaged skin and hair. The lemon essential oil helps to tone and balance the skin.

We are in love with the all-natural, plant-based products from Biggs & Featherbelle. They have 20 soaps and we’re dying to try them all. Plus you can buy raw shea butter or cocoa butter in bulk.

Lather Up & Raise The Bar

As a self-proclaimed body wash fanatic, I’ve mostly ignored bath soap in any other form, especially bars of soaps but believe it or not the tide has turned and I can now say I am a fan of several body bars. There was a time when I loved one or two but I now find myself a fan of at least four or five different brands. I’ve recently stated my love of Burt’s Bees Shea Butter Conditioning Body Bar – click HERE for a refresher, well here are my other favorites.

Moksa Organics – $6.50

My first introduction to this brand was with their Bohemian Forest body bar – a blend of wintergreen, spearmint, and woodsy aromas. Talk about a pick me up; on days when my body and mind feel unmovable, the Moksa Bohemian Forest was always my go-to “wake me up” soap. The blend of organic coconut oil, olive oil, castor oil, shea butter etc left my skin quite moisturized as well.

Wembe – $8.00

I have mentioned Wembe Soaps quite a few times. I’ve loved the Mango Cleansing Bar, Citric Cleansing Bar, etc but my favorite continues to be the Chocolate Cleansing Bar – the invigorating elements from the oils and butters in this bar will awaken cravings throughout your body. It detoxifies, sooths and stimulates your senses. I mean who doesn’t want to walk around with skin smelling like chocolate.

Thymes – $13.00

I have been a fan of Thymes for as long as I can remember, I don’t think they have a product that I do not like. I’m a bit of a stalker for their body washes and its usually my go to brand but I do love their soaps as well. I usually switch back and forth between Thymes’s soaps and Body washes during the summer months tend to use their more citrus blends for a more invigorating shower experience. My new favorite is their Bergamot Vert (pictured above), a sweet citrus scent that reminds me of light orange sorbet or the scent of  an orange peel. I also slice a sliver off and keep in my draw.

Diptyque Paris – $15.00

Diptyque L’eau Soap is my special occasion soap. It’s what I use if I have a big night like an exciting date, my birthday, etc. The L’eau fragrance was created in 1968 and was the first eau de toilette Diptyque created. It infuses spices and flowers – Cinnamon, Clove, Geranium, Rose, Sandalwood and the scent changes as the day goes on. I always feel sexy when I use this soap and I love the fact that I don’t need to top it off with a perfume. It’s beguiling fragrance is all I need.

So there you have it ladies and gentlemen. These are the bars of soap that is making me revert back to using body bars. Maybe I mentioned a favorite of your or introduced you to what could become your favorite.

Wembe Soaps Returns to NYIGF

You may remember my introduction an eco-friendly soap company which makes natural soaps with the essence of the Amazonian Rain Forest that I first met at the New York International Gift Fair (NYIGF) called Wembe. I touched upon their various soaps and how I fell in love with them. See the article HERE. Well I took the time to revisit them at this year’s NYIGF to see what new soaps they have to offer. One soap I’m excited about is the Clean Face Make Up Remover

a gentle soap formulated for dry skin that contains both Olive Oil and Cocoa Butter to remove and clean pores. A key benefit of this soap is it can also be used as a mask balm.

I also got to speak to the young owners again about what they’ve been up to since the last time we spoke a year ago. Take a look
