Issey Miyake Launches New Women’s Fragrance, L’Eau d’Issey Pure

Renowned Japanese designer, Issey Miyake has added another beautiful fragrance to his range of evocative scents. Join me in welcoming L’Eau d’Issey Pure, a beautiful and unique fragrance. To celebrate this newest fragrance addition, guests were treated to delicious bites, cocktails, and a live dance performance choreographed by 2015 Bessie Award winner, Melissa Toogood, and her ensemble.

The L’Eau d’Issey Pure fragrance is the long awaited follow-up to Miyake’s 1992 release, L’Eau d’Issey. The concentrated, sensual fragrance is clear and transparent like water, with a freshness that exudes warmth. It’s slender, conical glass bottle even looks like an elongated drop of water. Top notes include the wet scent of the Rosewater and Cyclamen accord which blossoms into a shower of captivating freesia. It boasts an expressive and light Peony, White Lily, and spicy Carnation heart. The floral middle notes interplay with a base infused with precious woods, accords of Musk, and Osmanthus echoing the warmth of Tuberose. L’Eau d’Issey Pure is transparent and yet deep, fluid and yet enveloping, making it full of contrasts.

Incarnated by the salty sea breeze of Maritima* combined with Ambergris, L’Eau d’Issey Pure derives from a new aquatic story. Maritima*, an exclusive IFF molecule, evokes cool clear waters, while Ambergris, with its mineral and animal emphasis, brings sensuality and breadth to the fragrance. Its floral bouquet sparkles, as if floating on a wide expanse of the sea. Crystalline Lily of the-Valley responds to the brightness of Orange Blossom. Love is in the air and it’s not just because Valentine’s Day is next week. XOXO has just launched a new fragrance entitled XOXO Luv. XOXO Luv is the perfect floral fragrance for the woman who considers herself a hopeless romantic with heart notes of Pink Peony and White Jasmine to name a couple. From first whiff there are definitely fruity offerings such as apples, grapefruits and passion fruit, which the brand calls its sparkling top notes. As it dries down, the scent definitely turns a bit powdery. If you enjoy fragrances such as DKNY Be Delicious or Clinique Happy, you will like this fragrance.

To celebrate the launch of XOXO Luv, the brand invited NYC bloggers and tastemakers to Greenwich Project for breakfast with relationship experts, Siggy Flicker (a veteran matchmaker and TV personality) and Lori and Jennifer of Project Soulmate (an old school matchmaking service founded by two woman with the natural ability to connect people).

Media got a chance to sit with the experts and casually chat about all aspects of love and life in New York City. As a single gal myself (and proud of it) I asked each party for their opinions on what single girls should do on valentine’s day (just for fun). Lori of Project Soulmate replied that since Valentine’s Day falls on a Friday this year, it’s the perfect opportunity to “ get your butt out.” Siggy Flicker also shared a similar sentiment by encouraging single girls to spoil themselves and think of Valentine’s Day as a day that is all about them. She also adds, “change your attitude, change your life.”

Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen are set to launch their first fragrances, Elizabeth and James Nirvana WHITE and Elizabeth and James Nirvana BLACK, exclusively at Sephora. Although they are twins, the duo’s fragrances, developed by Ashley Olsen, Mary-Kate Olsen, Kendo for SEPHORA, Firmenich, and Batallure Beauty, couldn’t be more different from each other as they celebrate “intimacy and individuality”.

Elizabeth and James Nirvana WHITE, an alluring floral musk with notes of peony, muguet and musk, and Elizabeth and James Nirvana BLACK, a sensual, woody scent with notes of violet, sandalwood and vanilla.
