BeachTacs: Keeping Your Beach Towels and Drinks in Place

We’re right in the middle of beach season and the hottest time of the year, which means by now some of you have made several trips to the shores to indulge in a little sun and surf. we’re sure there are essentials you take with you to the beach – chair, blanket or towel, sunblock, snacks, etc. What if we told you there was one necessity you were missing from your beach gear? One that will make your beach-going experience easier and more enjoyable; something you never knew you needed, and what you’ll realize you must have. what are we talking about? We’re talking about BeachTacs!

Get ready for the new must-have beach product! BeachTacs are a combination of towel clips and drink holders that should be an essential part of your summer trips to the beach, whether you’re heading to the shores near you, or going away on vacation. We’ve all experienced the annoying tasks of chasing down wayward blankets and towels that have literally “gone with the wind”, we’ve all either had our bags, fellow beachgoers (friends and family of course), and even beverages act as paperweights, so our towels don’t fly away. Of course more often than not, a strong gust of wind will topple that beverage right onto the towels, leaving you thirsty, most likely a cup of sandy beverage, and with a wet towel. You can change all that with BeachTacs.

“Stake your place in the sand while keeping your towels from blowing away in the wind, and your drinks from spilling in the sand or on your towel!” Thanks to BeachTacs, you no longer have to experience these annoying beach issues. With its astonishingly simple design to hold your beach towel and drink in place, it will have you spending less time worrying, and more time having fun. BeachTacs are US patented, and are manufactured, using the high-quality plastic. Each package includes an 8 piece set to lock down all four corners of your towel into the sand without putting a hole or ripping your towel, plus it will hold any drink container under 2.5” diameters.

The set breakdown includes: four child proof easy locking stakes, three easy locking caps, one easy locking cup holder, and a reusable carrying tote with an inside slot for holding keys, your ID and more. This beach necessity, which retails for $12.99, comes in three colors, including Sky Blue, Pretty in Pink, and Sunshine Yellow, and is available at Walmart, Big 5 Sporting Goods, Bed Bath & Beyond, Amazon, Zulily, RK Shopping Network, as well as their website,

Travel Highlight: Let’s Go to Maharashtra, India

At one point, we traveled extensively, it was a great joy in our lives as we love to travel. We love the temporary escape from our reality, opening the window to a view that’s not the usual, experiencing new people, cultures, foods, and the wonderful sights each destination has to offer. Today we’re highlighting Maharashtra, a state in the western region of India and India’s second-most populated state. We actually meant to cover this previously but… Anyway, we had the pleasure of being a guest at a travel event for Maharashtra, India and delighted in the music, dancing and food featured at the event.

Maharashtra is the wealthiest and most developed state in India, but you may be more familiar with its state capital and largest city, Mumbai. Though Mumbai is the most popular, Maharashtra has 35 districts. There are lots of things to enjoy, like visiting the Mumbai Monorail, the first mono railway in India, the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, India’s first cable-stayed bridge, the Gateway of India in Mumbai, the Ajanta Caves in Aurangabad, the Statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and a statue of Ganesha. Along with lots of beautiful sights to see, there are lots of delicious culinary wonders to delight in, a foodie’s dream. At the Maharashtra Tourism event, I heartily enjoyed a variety of dishes…..see some of the cuisine I enjoyed below:

Maharashtra cuisine features amazing dishes that range from mild to very spicy. Some of the popular dishes include puran poli (a traditional type of sweet flatbread), ukadiche Modak (a steamed or fried coconut-filled sweet dumpling), and batata vada (potato fritters). The is divided into two wide categories of cuisine – Konkani, and Varadi. Although they are different, both cuisines use lots of seafood and coconut. Some other ingredients used in dishes from Maharashtra include onion, garlic, ginger, red chilli powder, green chilies, lentils, and tamarind. Non-vegetarian and vegetarian dishes are generally eaten with boiled rice or soft roti bread, and the most popular fish is bombil, also known as the Bombay duck.

The beauty of Maharashtra isn’t just in its sights and foods, as they have many different types of beautiful dances. The Povada is the dance form that describes the life of Maratha ruler, Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj; the Lavani and Koli dances entertains you with mesmerizing music and rhythmic movements; the Dhangri Gaja dance pays respect to the God Biruba; the Dindi and Kala are the religious folk dances, and the Tamasha is the most popular folk dance. We enjoyed a sampling of, and took video of the beautiful dances performed during the event, enjoy them below:

We hope to visit Maharashtra one day and experience it’s stunning beauty first hand, it is definitely on our travel wish list.

High-Low Dresses

The high-low style dresses continue to be a big hit with trend-lovers and make a great choice for teens who want to highlight their fun personalities at prom. The above are three of our favorite styles from DressFirst’s vast offerings of high-low prom dresses. We love the chic, strapless silhouette and ruffles on the Princess V-neck Asymmetrical Chiffon Sequined Prom Dress With Ruffle, the beading and bountiful tulle train on the Sheath One-Shoulder Asymmetrical Detachable Satin Tulle Prom Dress With Embroidered Lace Beading, and the playful, scalloped and asymmetrical hem on the Princess One-Shoulder Asymmetrical Chiffon Prom Dress With Ruffle Beading.

Sheer Illusion Dresses

For those who want to show off the illusion of skin, DressFirst offers these sheer illusion styles. This not-so-subtle trend gives the alluring illusion of exposed necklines or sheer bodices although the sheer bodices seem to be the most popular trend out of the two. Whether the style is more subtle like the Sheath Sweetheart Floor-Length Tulle Charmeuse Prom Dress With Lace Sequins, daring like the Mermaid V-neck Sweep Train Tulle Prom Dress With Beading, or somewhere in between like the Princess Sweetheart Floor-Length Tulle Sequined Prom Dress With Beading, this trend is getting lots of well-deserved attention.

High Slit Dresses

From the time Angelina Jolie’s leg made it’s appearance on the red carpet, High Slit Dresses have been on the rise….literally. The sexy and sophisticated style is has been making showing up on more runways and red carpets with no sign of stopping in 2014. Whether you go with a high side or front slit, designers are daring you to go higher. Our favorite DressFirst prom dresses with high slits include the Princess One-Shoulder Floor-Length Chiffon Prom Dress With Ruffle Beading Sequins with its off-center slit, the draping wonder with a perfect side slit that is the Sheath Sweetheart Sweep Train Chiffon Prom Dress With Ruffle Beading, and the Mermaid Halter Sweep Train Charmeuse Prom Dress With Ruffle Beading, which boasts a frontal slit.

Mini/Short Dresses with Sheer Overlay

What do you get when you combine the sensuality of the high-low trend with the and elegance of the sheer illusion trend? The result is the fun, modern and chic Short Dress with Sheer Overlay trend. The attention-getting style not only highlights long legs, it allow teens to be sexy without trying too hard. We are salivating over the red hot and sultry Mermaid One-Shoulder Court Train Satin Tulle Prom Dress With Lace Beading Sequins, the super sweet Mermaid Sweetheart Floor-Length Satin Tulle Prom Dress With Lace Beading, and the elegantly edgy Sheath One-Shoulder Floor-Length Satin Tulle Prom Dress With Beading.

Dramatic Lace

Another hot trend is lace, which is making a huge comeback in a dramatic way. No longer is lace being used as merely a trim or as a small detail. The super feminine trend is now being featured over more than half of dress styles. We’re now seeing lace predominantly showcased as large lace inserts covering the bodice or entirety of dress styles. If you love this trend, one of these DressFirst styles should be your prom dress. For a more subtle lace look, check out the Princess Sweetheart Asymmetrical Satin Prom Dress With Ruffle Lace Beading – as you walk, the lace on the skirt reveals itself, matching the bodice, the Princess Sweetheart Asymmetrical Tulle Charmeuse Prom Dress With Lace Sequins, shows that pretty-in-pink doesn’t have to mean reserved, while the bold and stunning standout that is the Sheath Sweetheart Asymmetrical Taffeta Prom Dress With Lace is as daring as it is beautiful.

As you can see, several of the above featured DressFirst prom dresses boasts more than one of the hot trends for the 2014 prom season and they are all under $200.00. This means no matter which style you choose, you are right on trend with these DressFirst prom dress picks without going over budget.
