10+Free Clean Nail Color 2020 F/W Runway Nail Looks at NYFW

Trust us when we say your health and wellness have never looked so good or your trendy. We had the pleasure of going backstage with our favorite new vegan nail polish brand, 10+Free Clean Nail Color, as they dressed the nails of models at three NYFW shows. Check out the cool nail trends 10+Free Clean Nail Color and Nail Artist Holly Falcone created for PRISCAvera and Sandy Liang; and Nail Artist Ashanti Newman for Noon by Noor.

PRISCAVera

NYFW Nails: 10+ Free Nail Polish at PRISCAVera

The ready to wear collection was youthful with flashes of feminine and playfulness. Nail Artist Holly Falcone created three nail looks to compliment the fresh twist on the geek chic style. The first splash of color was playful and power pink ZINNIA, a vivid fuchsia crème with full coverage.

DENIM STITCH & PINK STITCH HOW-TO

  1. Apply Prep with Peptides Clear Base Coat to clean filed nails.
  2. With a striping brush, create multiple curvy stitch lines on each nail with Deep Sea-crets (for Denim Stitch) and Zinnia (for Pink Stitch).
  3. Apply Pep In Your Step Clear High Gloss Top Coat.

Sandy Liang

NYFW Nails: 10+ Free Nail Polish at Sandy Liang

For Sandy Liang, Nail Artist Holly Falcone paired the classic French manicure with a 90’s twist using MOON BEAMS (Crisp Bright Alabaster White Crème) and SMOOTH SAILING (Pastel Blue Crème with a hint of Periwinkle) to create a stylish, yet simple thin French tip. This was an elegant look to complement the flirty gingham print skirts and girly dresses. Holly used a custom-made deep vampy-red to create a chic, bold and sophisticated nail look for the cool shearling and leather outerwear.

CLASSIC FRENCH & FRENCH TWIST HOW-TO

  1. Apply Prep with Peptides Clear Base Coat to clean filed nails.
  2. With a striping brush, create a french tip with Moon Beam (for Classic French) and Smooth Sailing (for French Twist).
  3. Apply Pep In Your Step Clear High Gloss Top Coat.

Noon by Noor

NYFW Nails: 10+ Free Nail Polish at Noon By Noor

For the Noon by Noor F/W 2020 show, Nail Artist Ashanti Newman used Noor Rashid Al Khalifa and Haya Mohammed Al Khalifa’s inspiration of Bahrain’s traditional handcrafted doors and decorative architecture for this season’s nail inspiration. With a wide range of colors and textures used in these pieces, 10+Free Clean Nail Color’s MOON ROCKS (Indigo charcoal gray crème) shade was the perfect compliment.

Backstage Beauty: Glamsquad at the JUST IN XX NYFW F/W 2018 Show

Fashion Week shows are not just about the fashion trends walking down the runway, we also anxiously await to see what makeup and hair trends will take center stage next season as well. This season, we journeyed with the Glamsquad beauty team as they did makeup, hair, and nails for a select few runway shows. First up was Glamsquad at the JUST IN XX NYFW F/W 2018 Show where Kelli J. Bartlett created the fresh-faced beauty looks, Giovanni Vaccaro celebrated easy hairstyles, and Christina Quercia has nails looking super elegant in a barely-there hue.

GET THE LOOK: MAKEUP

For the Glamsquad at the JUST IN XX NYFW F/W 2018 makeup, the team prepped the skin with a refreshing spray and Chanel Hydra Beauty Serum, followed by hydrating the lips with a nourishing lip balm. To add brightness, apply Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer concentrating the product under the eyes and on the center of the face. Next, neutralize the eyelid with the concealer by applying lightly with your finger. Add structure to the face by applying a cool-toned contour from the Urban Decay Naked Skin Shapeshifter Palette in the hollow of the brow bone and cheekbone. Curl the lashes and create definition by bumping L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Mascara in the base without pulling through to the ends. Create a perfect ruby-stained lip by using a mixture of crushed plum and red velvet in the Bobbi Brown Lip Palette. Mix the lip colors on your hand, and then press on to the lip with your fingers for a natural look. Highlight the cheekbone with a glossy translucent highlight followed by applying Kevin Aucoin The Pure Powder Glow Blush to seal the look.

GET THE LOOK: HAIR – Natural Texture

Apply Ouai Dry Shampoo Foam to the roots of the hair and blowout towards the face using your hands
Next, spray Kerastase VIP Volume in Powder throughout the hair from mid-shaft to ends in order to create an airy, lived-in texture. Create a natural look by tucking some hair behind the ear with a few pieces left out around the face.
Finish with L’Oreal Elnett Hair Spray and Ouai Hair Oil if needed on the ends.

GET THE LOOK: HAIR – Braids

Create a strong center part all the way from the crown of the head to the nape of the neck. Apply Ouai Hair Oil combined with French Girl Sea Spray from roots to ends. Brush the hair flat and tuck behind the ears on both sides securing with an elastic. Pull a 1-inch thick piece of hair out of the ponytail and wrap around the elastic. Create a three-strand braid on both sides, secure with an elastic and spray with L’Oreal Elnett Hair Spray.

GET THE LOOK: NAILS (not pictured)

File the nails into a natural round shape with soft edges. Next, hydrate the cuticle with oil followed by a quick hand massage using Essie ‘Many Many Mani’ lotion to soften. Apply one coat of Essie Base Coat, ‘First Base‘,  followed by two coats of Essie ‘Brides To Be’. Finish the look with Essie Topcoat, ‘Good To Go’ and quick dry drops.

Read on for the tips and tricks to replicate the three Golden Globes beauty looks.

Susan Kelechi Watson’s “bobfro” by Vernon François

TIPS/TECHNIQUE: To recreate Susan’s “bobfro”, start by prepping the scalp with the Scalp Nourish~Ment Braids and Loc Spray followed by the Leave~In Conditioner from root to ends for a dose of hydration and protection. Part and section the hair and create two strand twists and then set under a diffuser or hood dryer. Next, split & separate the twists, concentrating on the bottom to reveal carefree body and volume. To complete the look, pin the sides to hold the hair in place & top off with the Dazz~Ling Spritz Shine Spray for a touch of shimmer.

The Vernon François products used on Susan Kelechi Watson, available on www.Sephora.com and select Sephora retailers, include Scalp Nourish~Ment Braids and Loc Spray ($24.00), Leave~In Conditioner ($28.00), and Dazz~Ling Spritz Shine Spray ($24.00).

Caitriona Balfe hair by Harry Josh for Joico

Inspiration: “We wanted to keep hair on the modest side, as there’s an important message being portrayed by the women on the carpet tonight. That’s why we decided to go with a tight, slicked-back bun and kept it simple, sleek and chic.” – Harry Josh

TIPS/TECHNIQUE: “Prep is super important to a finished look – the battle of healthy looking hair begins in the shower. To ensure moisturized and healthy hair, Harry Josh started Caitriona’s hair by using the Joico K-Pak Luster Lock as he washed the hair. This deep-penetrating system was left on her hair for minutes before washing out and is a great 3-minute miracle for dehydrated hair, as it gave the high-wattage shine needed for tonight’s red carpet or is even great for day-to-day life.

Harry Josh decided on a very sleek bun for Caitriona’s red-carpet look. First, he started blow drying the hair, making sure to apply the Joico Heat Set Blowout Perfecting Crème to her still wet hair – this helped to diminish frizz or any heat damage, which was important for the sleekness of the look. It was also vital to blow dry the hair downwards using a flat brush, this made sure hair was illuminated and lent to the shininess we were trying to achieve. Once her hair was dried, Harry made sure to apply the smallest drop of the Joico K-Pak Protect & Shine Serum to the ends of Caitriona’s hair to create an ultra-healthy finished look.

To start the styling, Harry created a zig-zag part at the top of her head, then secured all her hair into an extremely tight ponytail in the back using an elastic band. He then started to twist the ponytail around the elastic band until he felt it buckle. Once he felt that buckle, he secured the hair with bobby pins to keep the bun in place. To finish off the look and make sure it appeared extra-glossy, Harry used the Joico Power Spray which not only ensured the hair would stay in place, but also give a high-gloss, almost wet-look finish. Finally, for an extra hint of flair, he decided to use chain-metal panels on the side of the head to create a fun, a-symmetrical look.

PRODUCTS: Joico K-Pak Color Therapy Luster Lock ($19.99), Joico Heat Set Blowout Perfecting Crème 03 ($14.99), Joico K-Pak Protect & Shine Serum ($17.49), and Joico Power Spray Fast-Dry Finishing Spray ($16.99). Get them all at www.LoxaBeauty.com, Ulta, and www.Ulta.com.

Lily James Makeup by Katey Denno for Biossance

Green beauty expert and celebrity makeup artist Katey Denno worked with Biossance to give British beauty Lily James a golden glow for tonight’s awards. Before creating her effortless makeup look, Katey prepped Lily’s skin by pressing in 5-6 drops of Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil to brighten and even out her skin tone. On the areas where Lily needed an extra boost of hydration, Katey massaged a few drops of Biossance Squalane + Probiotic Gel Moisturizer. For an all-over glow, Katey added a few additional drops of the Gel Moisturizer to her decolletage, back and arms.

All of Biossance’s products are made with the brand’s 100% plant-based and sustainable Squalene Oil, a weightless oil that hydrates and locks in essential moisture.

L’Oréal Paris’s Sir John Shares His Summer Beauty Hacks

Has the unpredictably hot and extremely humid summer season acted more like your enemy? Has your makeup been melting and running down your face? Do you and cooked lobsters share a similar skin tone after spending time out in the sun? If you answered yes to any of these questions, L’Oréal Paris Celebrity Makeup Artist, Sir John is here to help by sharing his top summer beauty hacks. Trust us when we say you’re going to want to pay attention to these beauty tips and tricks from this renowned beauty expert.

To summer-proof your beauty, you must, of course, have the right tools, like the above product recommendations from L’Oréal Paris. Sir John’s summer beauty hacks cover everything from covering a sunburn, to melt-proofing your makeup, and achieving the perfect summer glow.

SUMMER BEAUTY HACK #1: COVERING A SUNBURN

SIR JOHN TIP: While everyone tries to avoid getting a sunburn, unfortunately sometimes it still happens. Luckily, there are some easy ways to cover it up. Sir John recommends using the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Total Cover Foundation ($12.99) along with a green color corrector as found in the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Total Cover Color Correcting Kit. The green will neutralize the redness on the skin. Using a makeup sponge like the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Blend Artist Concealer Blender ($7.99), dab it into places that are burned the most – areas like your nose and cheekbone.

SUMMER BEAUTY HACK #2: HOW TO — USE MELT-PROOF MAKEUP

SIR JOHN TIP: Melting makeup doesn’t have to be synonymous with heat and humidity. Sir John has a trick to tame eyebrows and keep them in place to weather the elements – spraying hairspray on a thin toothbrush and then gently rubbing it on the brows (in more extreme cases like when on tour with clients, he has used a glue stick in place of hairspray). He then suggests penciling them in with an eye brow pencil like the L’Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Definer ($8.99). He also suggests using a waterproof mascara like the L’Oreal Paris Lash Paradise Waterproof Mascara ($9.99).

SUMMER BEAUTY HACK #3: HOW TO FAUX THE JLO SUMMER GLOW

SIR JOHN TIP: To get the perfect faux glow, Sir John recommends exfoliating with a product like the L’Oréal Pure-Clay Exfoliate and Refine Cleanser ($6.99) the night before you want to tan to prep skin. Then use a self-tanner and apply all over face and body for an even and natural-looking glow. Sir John loves the L’Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Serum ($10.99) as it’s easy to apply and lasts up to two weeks.

If you already have a gorgeous glow but want to add some highlight to your face, mix a liquid highlighter like the L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator ($12.99) with a hydrating facial moisturizer from the L’Oréal Paris Hydra Genius ($17.99) line and apply it on your desired areas.

What do you think of Sir John’s summer beauty hacks? Could this summer-proof your beauty?
