Red, White and Blue Pinnacle Vodka Cocktails for Fourth of July

It’s that time again to celebrate the freedoms that we have (still have?), or at least raise a glass to all of us who are fighting for our freedom and rights. You know, what this country was built on!  Today we’re taking this time to cheer those who continue to fight, to those who remember what the red, white and blue stands for. In honor of the celebration of Independence Day, we present these red, white, and blue Pinnacle Vodka cocktails for the Fourth of July celebration. These two simple and delicious vodka cocktail recipes are the perfect libations to celebrate the holiday and make a great companion for a festive July 4th. Each of these cocktails uses Pinnacle Original Vodka, the award-winning, five times distilled French vodka.

Flirty Fizz

1 part Pinnacle® Original Vodka
2 parts Cranberry Juice
Splash of Club Soda
Garnish with Cranberries
Mix ingredients and serve over ice. Garnish with cranberries.

Classic Lemon Drop

1 1/2 parts DeKuyper® Triple Sec Liqueur
1/2 parts Pinnacle® Original Vodka
1/2 parts Lemon Juice
1 Sugar Cubes
Combine ingredients into an ice-filled shaker. Shake until sugar is dissolved, then strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a lemon twist (optional).

When you enjoy at a bar, or at a get together with friends and family at home, or basking in solitude, we hope you take this time to think about the freedoms we still do have, and how wonderful it is to have them. We, like our ancestors, might fight for those freedoms; many gave their lives so we could enjoy them now. So while you’re enjoying your time off from work, we hope you join us in raising a glass or two of these Pinnacle Vodka cocktails to the freedoms that we enjoy. Remember, like Pinnacle Vodka, a vodka of French creation and ancestry, we the citizens of the USA all came (or were brought here against our wills) for better opportunities. So we toast to you, the ones who make America the melting pot it is today, the ones who fought and continue to fight for freedom.

We hope you have a wonderful and safe Fourth of July!!

Event Recap: Campari Negroni Week Kickoff Event at Lovage Rooftop

We hope you guys had a wonderful time celebrating the fifth year of Campari Negroni Week because we certainly did. We had the pleasure of celebrating the apéritif at the Negroni Week VIP kickoff event with Imbibe Magazine at Lovage, the rooftop bar with 360-degree views. The Campari Negroni Week kickoff event featured several cocktail stations, where guests enjoyed several variations of the Campari cocktail.

The evening was a journey through many modern day interpretations of the Negroni cocktail, in various forms. We started our Campari Negroni Week cocktail journey with the Mai Tai Unigroni, a delicious concoction created by Joshua Anthony Campbell of Leyenda. This Negroni version of a Mai Tai was one of the favorites of the event’s guests, it was definitely one of ours.

For our next cocktail, we wanted something out of the world that would transport us (and our tastebuds) to another dimension, and the iridescent Galaxy Negroni Sbagliato, by Naren Young of Dante, was the perfect galactic cocktail to get us there.

We took a break from cocktails to enjoy one of the amazing Negroni edible treats, including the Negroni Pop Tarts from Scotch & Butter, Negroni Donuts from The Doughnut Project, and the most delightful Negroni Gelatin Balls.

After we had our fill, we continued on to our next cocktail, a frozen delight called the Frogoni, created by Julie Reiner, of the Clover Club. This slushy cocktail, whose ingredients included Campari and fresh strawberries, was the perfect way to cool down.

The flow of cocktails didn’t stop as we moved on to enjoy a few more libations. This time we went for the more classic Negroni cocktails. First up was The Red Planet Negroni, a classic looking drink boasting bold flavors by Leo Robitschek from The Nomad (you may remember his name as the creator of the amazing Red Velvet Swing cocktail from our holiday event with Campari).

Our next and last cocktail of the evening was the Classic Negroni, the perfect end to an event honoring the iconic cocktail. With the help of Mr. Negroni (and an ever-flowing Negroni fountain), we savored the simple, sophisticated cocktail as the event came to an end.

And that, dear readers, is how we celebrated Campi Negroni Week. We hope you had a great time honoring the week long event as well.

NYC Event Alert: You’re Invited to Campari’s Fifth Annual Negroni Week

There’s much to celebrate next week, and we plan on raising a glass, a spoon and an appetite as tribute. Negroni Week, presented by Imbibe Magazine and Campari, is a week-long international Campari cocktail celebration from June 5th-11th, that brings bartenders, restaurants, and Campari lovers together to celebrate one of the world’s greatest cocktails, the Negroni.

Commemorating its fifth year, Negroni Week will be celebrated at 6,000 bars and restaurants around the world, who will be mixing classic Negronis and Negroni variations for a great cause. This week-long event not only celebrates one of the world’s great cocktails, like the one featured below, it also helps to raise money for charities around the world.

Toasting to the End of Summer with NEW Pinnacle Strawberry Vodka

Alas, it’s almost time to say goodbye to the summer season, and welcome autumn. During this seasonal change, we can’t help but think of harvesting and fun trips to local farms to pick fruits, like ripe juicy strawberries. For those who’ve never gone strawberry picking or prefer to do their picking at supermarkets, you should know there are techniques to picking the best strawberries. According to Sara Gore, entertaining expert, and co-host of New York Live, for its Life Skills of the Highly Entertained series, when it comes to strawberries,“bigger is not always better, after picking the perfect berries, you have to know how to store them, and adding a spirit, like vodka, to a drink like strawberry lemonade gives it a nice happy hour spin.” Which brings us to the NEW Pinnacle Strawberry Vodka, the latest flavor launch from the premium flavored vodka maker. Today we’re sharing two great cocktail recipes to enjoy using Pinnacle Strawberry Vodka and the wonderful tips from Sara Gore.

What are your thoughts on these Pinnacle Strawberry Vodka cocktails? Are you guys excited for this new flavor? As promised, enjoy the full range of tips from Sara Gore on making the most of your strawberry enjoyment:

Bowl of Strawberries 1

  1. PICKING THE PERFECT BERRY – Bigger is not always better. Typically, the smaller the berry, the more intense the flavor. Go for berries that are bright in color and plump with shiny skin. Berries don’t ripen after you pick them, so keep that in mind if you see any that haven’t turned red yet. If buying a container, pick up the carton and take a look underneath to ensure they haven’t turned to mush on the bottom. While you’re there, take a whiff. Those berries will smell as good as they taste!
  2. HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR BERRY – After picking the perfect berries, you have to know how to store them. Keep in mind berries are always best eaten within a couple of days of purchase. When planning a menu, buy them last and keep them cold and dry. To make berries last longer, make sure you don’t wash them until you are ready to eat them. Place them in a single layer on a paper towel in a container or on a sheet tray covered with plastic wrap. Rinse in cold water before eating.
  3. MUDDLE UP – Sure strawberry lemonade is great on its own, but adding a spirit, like vodka, gives it a nice happy hour spin. Muddling in a fresh herb will give it another dimension of flavor. Add your leaf of choice to the bottom of the glass. Using your favorite muddler, crush the leaves to release their flavor. Pour in the remaining ingredients and go from bartender to mixologist in a mere 8- 10 smashes. Sara’s favorite additions to a strawberry vodka lemonade are basil, mint, or even the not so obvious choice of rosemary for a smoky, earthy flavor. Use the same herb as a drink garnish. As everyone who is highly entertained knows, it’s the little things that make all the difference.

Pinnacle Strawberry Vodka hits store shelves this month, so keep an eye out for the newest addition to the french distilled lineup.

Celebrating National Tequila Day with Patron Tequila

Once a year we get to honor tequila, the distilled libation made from the blue agave plant. Normally, we’d honor the day by enjoying a quiet day at home with a tequila cocktail or two. This year, we did something different. We had the amazing pleasure of celebrating National Tequila Day with Patron, surrounded by non-stop tequila goodness all around.

With multiple Patron Tequila bars that represented cocktails from Mexico, Great Britain, Cuba, and much more, we knew we were in for fiesta of a lifetime spending National Tequila Day with Patron. We spent the day enjoying many tequila infused delights, including learning how to muddle our own cocktails at the Cuba bar. Our reward was a delicious cocktail and a personalized Patron muddler.

Next, we took a 360-degree, 3-D, virtual reality tour of the Patron Tequila process, products, and people at the Hacienda Patron in Atotonilco, Mexico. Stopping for a Patron Oyster shot in between activities.

In between cocktails, we took a meal break to enjoy some of the delicious fare provided by Creative Edge, which included a yummy crepe bar. we had our choice of creating a sweet, or savory crepe to pair with our Patron cocktail

The festivities continued at the National Tequila Day with Patron event with our next cocktail experience, which was to create our own Patron Bloody Maria cocktail. We selected our choice of either Patron Silver, Anejo, or Reposado tequila, Bloody Mary Mariachi-Mix, or Spicy Bloody Mary, and then topped it off with either shrimp, crab legs, bacon, an assortment of vegetables, etc. We decided on Patron Reposado with the Spicy Bloody Mary Mix and garnished it with jumbo shrimp and bacon……yum!!

To cleanse our palate and because it was a very hot day, we jumped at the chance to cool down with one of the three Patron Pops courtesy of King of Pops (Mojito, Pina Colada, and Sangria), and one of the four Patron Ice Cream flavors created by Tipsy Scoop (Jalisco Mule, Strawberry Sangria, Silver Mojito, and White Russian).

After we cooled down, we kept the National Tequila Day with Patron party going with our go-to tequila cocktail – the mule. We started with the WTRMLN Mule, which came in a beautiful copper Patron cup, and moved on to the Jalisco Mule, housed in a stunning silver cup.

As you can imagine, we were beginning to feel the effects of this never-ending flow of Patron tequila, so we had to stop by the Bagel bar to fill up on some delicious carbs.

Overall, Patron blew us away with their National Tequila Day with Patron event. There was so much to enjoy, beyond just enjoying a few cocktails. Aside from all we’ve mentioned, guests had a blast rocking to music from DJ PS1, and getting caricatures of themselves to commemorate the event.
