These delicious rum cocktails were created by Ron Abuelo Global Brand Ambassador, Cristóbal Srokowski. There’s just something sensual about rum cocktails that make them perfect for Valentine’s Day cocktails. It may be the rich and darkness of the sugarcane molasses or its Caribbean history, islands that inspire escapism or hedonism. Last Minute Valentine's Day Drink From Ron Abuelo 7 Años

1 oz. Ron Abuelo 7 años
¾ oz. Fresh raspberries purée
¾ oz. Fresh passion fruit purée
½ oz. Triple Sec
½ oz. Simple syrup
Champagne flute
Shake all ingredients and double strain into a Champagne flute. Top off with chilled Champagne or dry sparkling wine and gently stir. Garnish with a raspberry.

1 ½ oz. Ron Abuelo 7 años
6 Fresh Raspberries
¾ oz. Honey syrup
¾ oz. Tamarind concentrate
1 oz Fresh lime juice
Muddle the raspberries inside the shaker. Add the rest of the ingredients and shake. Simple strain into a rocks glass over ice. Garnish with a cinnamon stick, mint spring, and fresh raspberries.

About Ron Abuelo 7 Años ($24.99):

A reddish amber colored Reserva Superior. Matured in small oak casks, the Abuelo 7 Años is a versatile selection for sipping, mixing, and with food pairings. Rounded and balanced with aromas of dates, raisins, and vanilla. In the mouth, there is light minerality with notes of fig, cinnamon, and dried fruit.

Celebrating 45 Years of Dark and Lovely Hair Care for Women of Color

We recently helped celebrate a great milestone in African American beauty. This year, Dark and Lovely hair care celebrates 45 years of catering to the haircare and styling needs of women of color. The event highlighted Dark and Lovely’s rich heritage and impact the brand has made in the beauty and fashion in the African-American community from it’s creation in the 1970’s, to today.

To commemorate this milestone in haircare, brand ambassador, actress, and singer Demetria McKinney, welcomed the crowd with her latest single, as well as singing the brand’s praises.

 “To have 45 years of excellence, to have 45 years of beauty, to have 45 years of empowerment – that’s what Dark and Lovely is. “To be a brand ambassador for this brand has been an awesome, awesome journey!”

Although she couldn’t make the event, actress Teyonah Parris, the newest brand ambassador for Dark and Lovely hair care welcomed the crowd of attendees with a video message stating her excitement to be part of the hair care brand.

“I am thrilled to be able to help Dark and Lovely celebrate their 45th anniversary and I am so excited to be the newest brand ambassador. “I grew up using Dark and Lovely products and I’m so proud to be able to represent the brand as an ambassador. It is a privilege to celebrate this significant milestone during Black History Month.”

After Demetria’s wonderful performance, we journeyed through the influential African-American hairstyles of the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s; from afros and finger waves to braids, and flowing layers, each highlighting an essential Dark and Lovely hair care product. Fun fact about the iconic brand – did you know Dark and Lovely was introduced as the first hair color product formulated specifically for African American women? Scholarship winners include Ashani Scales of Delaware State University, Renea Young of Mississippi Valley State University, Hollye Weekes of Wiley College, Kimberly Burton, and Cherise McAdoo of Hampton University.

A Toast to Summer’s End w/ Easy Labor Day Weekend Cocktails

Are you ready for more Labor Day Weekend Cocktails? Of course you are. We’re happy to bring you more cocktail recipe ideas to make your end of the summer celebrations a fun and delicious one. Whether you’re short on time, or just want to spend more time hanging out with  your guests, you can still blow them away with some delicious, quick, and easy to make drink recipes from The Famous Grouse Whisky, Skinnygirl Cocktails, Cynar Liqueur, Averna Liqueur, and Aperol Aperitif. We’ve even paired one of these cocktails, all of which boasts no more than four ingredients, with a culinary favorite, the Lobster Roll.

The Famous Grouse – Lobster Roll + Whisky Ginger Pairing

“Whisky pairs beautifully with a lobster roll as the creamy mayo and melted butter combination with coat your mouth and then soften the alcohol on your palate. The Famous Grouse Whisky Ginger

1.5 oz The Famous Grouse Blended Scotch Whisky
4 oz Ginger Ale
Dash of fresh lemon juice
Pour the Famous Grouse and ginger ale over ice, add a dash of fresh lemon juice and stir. Garnish with a lemon wedge

The Lobster Roll:
4 cups cooked lobster meat, cut up into bite-size pieces and doused with melted butter
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon chopped celery
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1/2 tablespoon of salt
Mix together and stuff into a grilled hot dog bun.

We’re continuing the fun with these deliciously simple recipes from Skinnygirl cocktails, and a few Italian ice cream floats with a boozy twist. Actor & Global Alpina Brand Ambassador, William Baldwin, Celebrate Alpina Geneve’s 2012 Diver Collection

Actor and Global Alpina Brand Ambassador Billy Baldwin (most recently seen as William van der Woodsen on Gossip Girl and Frank Delano on Hawaii Five-O) was on hand to help celebrate the launch of Alpina Watches’s new 2012 Extreme Diver Collection, which made its debut at Baselworld in Switzerland March 8-15, as the new face of its 2012 advertising campaign. The New Alpina Extreme Diver Watch is just the first model that Billy Baldwin will be introducing with the brand; more new exciting models are currently in development.

“We couldn’t be more confident in our choice for this campaign; William Baldwin not only represents the face of Alpina, he carries the spirit of the brand – Generous, strong, and talented,” says Alpina’s CEO, Peter Stas (featured in the photo with Baldwin below). Mambo Clothing Launches at Bon-Ton Stores

Several great things come from Australia including my favorite True Blood star, Ryan Kwanten who also just happens to be the new Brand Ambassador for Aussie brand street and surf wear brand, Mambo. To celebrate the partnership, Mambo and Bon-Ton Stores held an event at Drive-In Studios. “We are very pleased about our partnership with Mambo Graphics. It is especially exciting to be the first retailer in the United States to offer this iconic Australian surfwear/streetwear brand,” commented Bud Bergren, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bon-Ton. “Mambo is one of the top surf and skate brands in the world and will be an exciting addition to our extensive portfolio of exclusive private and national brand offerings. As the Brand Ambassador, the very hot Ryan Kwanten, who is also the face of the brand, was in attendance to play host for the event.
