Kelly Rutherford

The bag is already a hit with celebrities as Gossip Girl alum and mother of two, Kelly Rutherford was spotted carrying the limited edition Vera Bradley for Win Reversible Mother’s Day Tote in Nomadic Floral while flower shopping on Madison Avenue. This is a great way to celebrate giving and shopping for a great cause, and once these beautiful prints are gone, they are gone.

Another wonderful way to support the Win organization is through their Dear Mom campaign. You can send words of encouragement to moms at Win using the #DearMom hashtag and/or send your loved ones a Mother’s Day card, designed by a child living in a Win shelter when you make a $25.00 donation.

Frangi Pangi: Ultra-Sheer Pantyhose for Women of Every Color

As any woman of color will tell you, the available “nude colors” do not include options for darker skin tones. Thankfully there have been some great strides into adding all shades of nude into items women use every day. We’ve seen some makeup and footwear brands expanding their nude color ranges but there are still more products that can make use of this increase range of colors. One such product is hosiery, where the typical nude color on a woman of color is more than just laughable, it’s ridiculous; but thanks to the luxury brand, Frangi Pangi Hosiery, that will no longer be an issue.

Fringe Pangi Hosiery Fringe Pangi Colors

Frangi Pangi (named after the Hawaiian Lei flower whose petals bloom in a variety of colors) is a luxury hosiery brand that is like a concealer for your legs. This made in the USA brand of ultra-sheer pantyhose is designed for women of every color, by Jocelyn Maminta, herself a woman of color. Frangi Pangi Hosiery comes in 10 varied skin tones as well as an opaque black, with its legwear colors named after exotic fruits and spices, such as Lychee, Guava, Saffron, Sumatra, Arabica, etc, representing the variety of shades of women. Frangi Pangi boasts a “no-run” guarantee and features a comfortable control top, and sandal toe.

Fringe Pangi Hosiery on Model

If that wasn’t enough of a reason for women to get excited about this hosiery brand, Frangi Pangi’s pantyhose sizes range from A through 2X or six feet tall and through 275 pounds (knee-highs and thigh-highs up to size 5X are coming soon). Jocelyn Maminta believes women of all colors should have quality hosiery meets their high expectations for fashion, comfort, color and convenience, without costing a fortune.

But wait, there’s still more to love from Frangi Pangi Hosiery! Profits from the sale of Frangi Pangi Ultra-Sheer pantyhose will support Caroline’s Room, a family foundation named in memory of Caroline Marie Doyens who was born too early and
lived for only two months, that provides a safe haven for more than 50,000 families a year who lose babies at birth from complications of premature birth.

The Elephant Pants Holiday Pop-Up Shop

The Elephant Pants Holiday Pop-Up Shop at Columbus Circle

We love shopping, and we know many of you do too. We also love helping others and giving back in any way we can. Most of the time those two things don’t come together, but this holiday season, they do thanks to The Elephant Pants Holiday Pop-Up Shop. You may remember we declared our love for The Elephant Pants for great Thanksgiving style, and how these incredibly comfortable pants also helps saves Elephants. For every sale of any item sold at The Elephant Pants Holiday Pop-Up Shop, they will donate $1.00 – $4.00 to The African Wildlife Foundation to help end elephant poaching. The pop-up shop, located at the Columbus Circle Holiday Shops in New York City, will feature the entire collection, which includes the famed bohemian style pants we highlighted, rompers (which are incredibly cute), leggings, tapestries, shirts, kids clothing, and many more.

elephant harem rompers - The Elephant Pants Holiday Pop-Up Shop

How did Elephant Pants come to be? During a trip to Thailand in September 2013, the now Elephant Pants team stumbled upon the locally-made elephant pants. In their excitement, they purchased several pairs as gifts for their friends back in the United states. The Elephant Pants were such a hit in comfort and design, they saw the true potential for the idea they had in mind. As we highlighted in our Thanksgiving post, each of the Elephant Pants product styles are named after elephants that either died in captivity, are still being held captive, and those that were freed from circuses and zoos to live in wildlife habitats.

The Elephant Pants Holiday Pop-Up Shop officially opened to the public at the Columbus Circle Holiday Shops on December 1st, and runs until Christmas Eve, December 24th, so there’s plenty of time for you to pop in to get yourself a pair or two of Elephants pants, adorable tees or rompers, and of course get some great gift options for loved ones.

The Elephant Pants: Look Good While Saving the Elephants this Thanksgiving

We recently shared the perfect top to hide your possible “Thanksgiving food baby”, now we want to share our go-to pants that will provide both comfort and style during the food-heavy dinner. If you haven’t heard of The Elephant Pants, you should be paying attention. Not only are they the most comfortable pants you’ll own, they come in a variety of fun colors and elephant prints, and they help raise money to save elephants from illegal poaching.

The Elephant Pants The Elephant Pants2

As we said before, The Elephant Pants are very comfortable. They’re perfect for lounging around the house, yoga, and, of course adding a bit of adventurous style to your Thanksgiving look or any event where you’re sure to overindulge in culinary delights. Boasting two side pockets, an elastic waist and leg holes cinched at the ankles, each style of these printed bohemian pants, which are authentically made in Chiang Mai, Thailand, are named after elephants that were either held in captivity in circuses, zoos, etc, many of which have either died or set freed, or elephants left orphaned by poachers.

Aside from its very cool factor, the most amazing thing about these authentic Thai pants, $1.00 or $2.00 from every pair sold gets donated directly to the African Wildlife Foundation, which helps protect elephants from poachers, an ever increasing problem. Some of our favorite styles include the black and white Black Diamond Harem Pants, named after an Indian elephant with Al G. Barnes Circus; the strikingly vibrant blue and white Old Bet Harem Pants, an early American circus elephant owned by Hachaliah Bailey that was shot and killed while on tour near Alfred, Maine by a farmer; the black and gold Mona Harem Pants, a 60-yr old Asian elephant (maybe the oldest in the US) who was euthanized June 21, 2007 at the Birmingham Zoo in Birmingham, Alabama; and the olive and white Tarra Harem Pants, named after the first elephant to retire at the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee.

All styles of The Elephant Pants retail for a wonderfully affordable $18.00 each, a very stylish and inexpensive to support a great cause. We’ve shared our favorite colors, which ones are catching your fashionable eye?

Angela Roi Fall 2015 Handbag Collection

Sometimes it’s necessary to take a break from the runway shows for a more relaxed viewing collection experience. We had the pleasure of getting better acquainted with the stunning bags from the Angela Roi Fall 2015 Handbag Collection during NYFW, much to the delight of our senses. Housed in the Bene Rialto NYC Marketplace, which highlights and celebrates emerging designers and artists, the classic and elegant Angela Roi bags were a much-needed infusion of sophistication and color. Attendees of the preview were treated to a first-hand view of their just-released Jules Bucket Bags, their classic range of cross-body and tote bags, and a preview of their upcoming Basics Collection.

There are so many things to love about the Angela Roi bag collection. The luxurious yet accessible handbags boast vegan leather, a modern aesthetic, classic  minimalist styles that compliment any look, meticulous design, and a connection to amazing causes which they bags raise awareness and support for, through their “Donate by Color” program. where each color represents a different charity. On to the bags! The above features the Moa Tote, $165.00 (top row), and Sunday Tote II, $150.00 (2nd & 3rd row), both are made from high-quality Polyurethane leather, two cell-phone compartments inside, a zipped inside pocket, a fully lined interior, and the Angela Roi logo inside. The Moa Tote also features a zippered closure at the top, zipper embellishment at the side, and an animal-free suede lining inside. The Sunday Tote II features wing-shaped sides, a zippered closure, gold lock embellishment at the front,  gold square shape fixed rings on the handle, and an Angela Roi ribbon logo engraved on the back.

The round, Morning Cross-Body, $95.00 boasts high quality Polyurethane leather, a fold-over flap with magnetic button closure, gold Angela Roi and Signature Ribbon logo embossed at front, Angela Roi logo inside, a zippered closure at the top, a zippered pocket at the back, fully lined cotton interior, inside zippered pocket and an adjustable strap.

The new Jules Bucket Bag, $145.00, is the perfect everyday bag. It boasts room to carry everything from your laptop, iPad, wallet, etc, an effortless style that holds and goes with everything. It’s buttery soft exterior is the perfect compliment to it’s structured interior. It features a rope tie and snap button closure,  14k satin gold hardware including round flat studs on the bottom which balances and protects it, and a matching detachable pouch. The new bag is available in four colors: Light Beige, Navy, Wine, and Black, all of which support a charity. The Light Beige supports childhood cancer, the Navy: Colon Cancer, the Wine: Children affected with Aids, and the Black: Melanoma.

Our favorite color, of course, is pink (no surprise there), so we were naturally drawn to the bright pink Sunday Tote II. As with all the bags, a portion of the proceeds goes to an amazing charity. Since it’s pink, that naturally means a great breast cancer organization. for every pink bag sold, $5 will be donated to Living Beyond Breast Cancer.

Turn Back Time with Nordic Beauty’s Organic Skincare

One thing women have been trying to do since the beginning is turn back time. For centuries, women have tried several beauty regimens and rituals in the battle against aging, with minimal luck – but here is one beauty label that is sure to make you feel like you’ve frozen time, without leaving you with a frozen face, and a body full of toxins. Nordic Beauty is a 100% natural and organic skin care line that will deem other anti-aging products obsolete, thanks to its special ingredient, Marine Collagen Peptide.

These products use nature’s beauty secrets to keep you looking young and beautiful, with healthy, moisturized skin. The Marine Collagen Peptide used in the Nordic Beauty line comes from wild caught Norwegian Cod skin, from the cold waters of Northern Norway’s deep seas. The brand uses Cod Fish Collagen because it contains much larger amounts of amino acids, glycine and proline than other proteins. These tiny peptides penetrate deep within your skin to help form new tissue cells, resulting in beautiful and youthful looking skin that is younger, softer and more radiant, with optimal results after 33 days of use. Other natural ingredients include Lingonberry Seed Extract, Sweet Iris Stem Cell, Edelweiss Extract, as well as organic essential oils including Frankincense Essential Oil, Sunflower Oil, and Sweet Almond Oil.  The products are gentle and non-irritating, which is perfect for those with sensitive skin. What more could you ask for?

Being able to read the ingredients of the Nordic Beauty products is a real treat that we don’t often get when it comes to what we put on our face. Natural ingredients are very important to Nordic Beauty CEO Mette Risdal, “I hope to elevate consumer awareness of the dangers inherent in the many synthetic ingredients found in so many beauty products today,” says Risdal. “It isn’t worth the short-term gain if a product degrades your appearance or the health of your skin a few years down the line. Our Nordic Beauty products not only make you look good; they are good for you, promoting skin that glows with health and resiliency.”

You can also feel good about supporting Nordic Beauty, as they give 10% of their profits to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and Susan G. Komen Foundation, as noted by the pink bow and message stated directly on the packaging. By purchasing Nordic Beauty products, you are not only helping yourself, but other women as well!
